Remove bottom appearance panel and mud flaps – (a ) Remove a ppearance panel -use phillips screwdriver, panel removal tool, and 10 mm s ocket to remove (4) ri vets, and (2) screws from
bottom a ppearance panel on driver side. (b) Remove mud flap each side i f present removi ng the (3) Phillips head screws. Keep the bottom panel and mud flaps for reinstallation.

Remove bumper fascia - (a) us e panel removal tool to remove (2) plastic ri vets from bottom center fascia. For model with hands -free liftgate, there will be (6) plastic rivets. (b) use phillips
s crewdriver to remove (3) screws from wheel well liner each s ide. (c) open the trunk and use 3/16'' or 5 mm hex bits to remove (2) flat head s crews each side. (d) using plastic tri m tools, gently
remove the plastic fascia starting at the outer edges near the wheel wells. (e) disconnect the wiring from fascia each s ide if present.
3.
Lower exhaust pipe - us e exhaust removal pliers to lower the exhaust pipe temporarily. Caution: Us e a support or bungee cord to keep muffler from getting damaged.

Install hitch – ra i se the hitch i nto position and carefully s lide it over passenger side exhaust pipe first. Loosely i nstall M12 bolts ④ a nd conical washers ⑤ to the hitch, s ee Figure 1. Studs may
need to be bent or ground down to ensure fitment of the hitch as s hown i n Figure 4.

Tighten all M12 fasteners with torque wrench to 76 Lb.-Ft. (103 N*M).

Trim bumper fascia and bottom appearance panel - l oca te the center of bottom bumper fascia and trim 6.5'' tall by 10'' wi de area, s ee Figure 2. Ra dius cut out corners to retain holes i n
bumper fascia. Trim the bottom a ppearance panel as shown in Figure 3.
7.
Rei nstall all fasteners, wiring, fascia, exhaust, a ppearance bottom panel, a nd mud flaps removed in Step 1, 2, 3.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be
removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access o r attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices
and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
