BACKREST ADJUSTMENT
Tighten or losen the backrest straps as shown below to the preferred position.
AJUSTEMENT DU DOSSIER
Serrer ou desserrer la courroie du dossier, tel qu'illustré, jusqu'à la position désirée.
RUDDER ASSEMBLY
Notice: Do not cut the tie wrap before the rudder is installed.
A) Remove the Rudder assembly kit and its bracket from the rear dry compartment. Remove the bracket from the
rudder by unscrewing the nut on the bolt.
B) Lift the hull to have access to the hull keel.
C) Unscrew the keel extension screws. Do not use an electric screwdriver. Do not move the keel extension from its
position on the back of the kayak.
D) Take the rudder bracket, align its holes with the holes on the keel and use the two screws (unscrewed in step C).
Do not use an electric screwdriver. Start with the upper screw. Screw alternately the two screws by screwing few
threads at a time until tightened.
E) Take the rudder assembly and insert the bolt into the rudder bracket's holes.
F) Make sure the head of the bolt is well inside its place in the rudder and screw the hex nut onto the bolt until it
touches the bracket. Do not tighten it too much or you will bend the bracket.
G) Unscrew the nut on the screw already fixed on the rudder. Keep the screw inside the rudder hole.
H) Take the stamped eyelet from the rudder cable already installed and insert it onto the screw on the rudder.
Repeat steps G and H for the second cable.
I) Cut the plastic tie wrap. Pull on the elastic at the back of the kayak to hold down the rudder blade.
Position the blade correctly into place.
INSTALLATION GOUVERNAIL
Note : Ne coupez pas l'attache plastique avant que le gouvernail ne soit installé.
A) Retirer le kit d'assemblage du gouvernail du compartiment arrière du kayak. Séparer le gouvernail de son support en
dévissant l'écrou du boulon
B) Soulever le kayak pour avoir accès à la quille.
C) Dévisser les deux vis avant à l'aide d'un tournevis manuel (ne pas utiliser de tournevis électrique).
Ne pas déplacer la quille de sa position.
D) Prendre le support métallique, aligner ses trous avec les trous de la quille, puis le visser avec les 2 vis
(dévissées à l'étape précédente). Utiliser un tournevis manuel (ne pas utiliser de tournevis électrique) pour faire cette
opération. En commençant par la vis du haut, visser de quelques filets les deux vis en alternance jusqu'à les serrer
complètement.
E) Introduire le boulon dans les trous du support métallique du gouvernail.
F) S'assurer que la tête du boulon est bien dans sa loge dans le gouvernail, revisser l'écrou sur le boulon jusqu'au bas du
support. Ne pas trop serrer l'écrou pour éviter tordre ou de déformer le support.
G) Dévisser l'écrou de la vis déjà vissée sur le gouvernail et maintenir la vis en place.
H) Prendre l'oeillet du câble gouvernail pré-assemblé et insérer la vis à l'intérieur et revisser l'écrou.
Répéter les opérations G et H pour l'oeillet du deuxième câble.
I) Coupez l'attache de plastique et l'enlever du gouvernail. Étirer l'élastique qui maintien la lame
du gouvernail déjà installé sur le kayak, pour faire entrer la lame du gouvernail. Bien positionner
la lame dans la fente prévue sur la coque et remettre l'élastique en position initiale.
