Operation
PREPERATION FOR STARTING
Initial Start Up
1. Check all bolts and nuts. Ensure all fiitings are tightened.
1. Pump is shipped with oil. Remove the oil cap and check pump oil
level. Add SAE 30 non-detergent pump oil (Part #4043), if neces-
2. The place to set the compressor should be clean, dry and ventilated.
sary. Hand tighten breather cap.
3. Keep the using voltage within ±4% of the rated.
2. Turn pressure relief knob to engine start position.

capacity and viscosity recommendations.
4. Refer to engine manual to start your engine.
5. Once the engine has started, move the pressure relief knob to the
engine run position.
CAUTION
Unusual noise or vibration indicates a problem. Do not continue to
operate until you identify and correct the source of the problem.

CAUTION
4. Keep the oil level within the red circle of the oil sight glass.
Do not attach air tools to open end of the hose until start-up is
completed and the unit checks out OK.
5. We recommend SAE30 or L-DAB100 for environments over 10ºC,
and SAE10 or L-DAB46 for environments below 10ºC.
6. Run the unit for 30 minutes, with ball valve open, to break in pump
6.Open the outlet valve, set the knob of pressure switch in position on
parts.
7. Close the ball valve to shut off airflow. The compressor is now ready
(Fig.2), and let the compressor run 10 minutes with no load to ensure
for use.

OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT
1. The compressor is controlled by a pressure switch during normal
operation. It will automatically power down once it reaches maximum
pressure. The rated pressure has been set during the manufactruing
process. Do not change or adjust. As soon as the motor is switched
off, the compressed air in the discharge pipe should be released
through the release valve under the switch. This is the necessary
condition for restart, or the motor will be damaged. The rated pressure
can be adjusted by turning the adjusting bolt of the switch (Fig.3).
2. The output pressure of compressed air can be adjusted by the
regulating valve. Pull up the knob of regulating valve and turn it
clockwise or counterclockwise to increase or decrease the pressure
as shown in figure 3 (below).
3. To turn the compressor off, simply set the switch to the "OFF" position.
