INSTRUCTIONS:
INSTALLATION TIP: Using silicon spray to lubricate the muffler rubber insulators will ease removal and installation of the rubber insulators. Beware of the
heat flashing around the muffler because the edges may be sharp.
1. Lower the exhaust by removing rubber muffler shock isolator from frame mounted muffler hanger. There is one on the front and the back of the muffler.
NOTE: FOR 1999 MODELS ONLY
After completing step 1, bend the muffler hanger gusset over 75-90 degrees toward the muffler to prevent the possibility of exhaust rattle. Refer to above
illustration, Figure "B". This procedure is necessary only if the gusset is present.
2. Remove the 6mm bolts that connect pressure relief solenoid bracket to the rear of frame on driver's side.
3. Thread bolt leader (G) onto carriage bolt (1) and insert the bolt leader (G) through hole in the reinforcing plate (F). You should then insert bolt leader (G)
and assembly (1 and F) throught the indicated access hole in the bottom of vehicle frame. You should then carefully pull down through the hole in the
frame (refer to above illustration) until bolt is in position. Remove bolt leader (G).
4. Fasten hitch assembly (A) to vehicle using the appropriate hardware as shown in the above illustration.
5. Tighten all bolts: refer to torque table on instruction sheet.
6. Reinstalll the rubber muffler shock isolators onto the frame mounted muffler hangers.
7. Using the supplied 6mm x 40mm hex bolts (3) and 6mm washers (4) reinstall the pressure relief bracket through the clearance holes supplied in hitch
frame bracket. Insure that when you are tightening the two bolts that you do not crush the rubber cushioning intergral to the bracket.
8. Place drawbar (B) into hitch assembly (A) and insert pull pin (C) into drawbar (B). Use pin clip (D) to secure pull pin (C) in place.
9. The plastic cover (E) should replace drawbar (B) when not in use.
