EN | SitaMore safety heating element
_______________________________________________________________
The SitaMore safety heating element consists of a self-regulating heating tape. This means: If the ambient temperature is low, more heat is
generated, the ambient temperature increases, less heat is generated (table on page 63).
In addition, a thermostat with an external sensor can be switched into the circuit during installation in order to automatically and fully
disconnect the heating from the mains during the warm season. The SitaMore safety heating element is not to be used outdoors.
Montage
The persistent flat side of the safety heating element is to be looped around the pipe. The connection lead to be run downwards. The cable
strap, together with the heating element, is wrapped around the pipe and tied down making sure it is visible from the outside. For nominal
diameters smaller than DN 100, the cable strap in use is separated from the heating tape and the safety heating element is mounted onto the
downpipe by 3 additional cable straps positioned directly under the inlet socket of the rainwater roof drainage outlet. The contact force of the
cable straps and the heating tape towards the pipe must be so high that the heating tape lies evenly on the pipe around it in all areas and
cannot slip easily.
Attention: If the contact force is too high / excessive, the safety heating element can be damaged. This is by all means to be avoided. Only
insulation materials of building material class A according to DIN 4102 are to be used in the area surrounding the safety heating element.
Electrical installation VDE guidelines must be observed.
Only a qualified electrician should connect and install the safety heating element. VDE guidelines to be adhered to. A circuit breaker and 30
mA MCB (or combination device) are required. The mains electricity supply is to be protected by means of a suitable overcurrent protection
device or C-characteristic circuit breaker, as well as a circuit breaker or appropriate combination device (FI/LS). An isolating transformer is not
required. The safety heating element is designed in IP57 protection type. The electrical connection (terminal point) for home installation must
be appropriate for the environmental conditions.
This device can be used by children aged 8 years and over as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of
experience and knowledge if they have been supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the device and understand the resulting
dangers. Children are not allowed to play with the device.
Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision.
