Megaphone

Intended Use
The megaphone is intended for the amplification of announcements and the playback of alerts during meet-
ings, demonstrations, sporting events etc.
The power may only be supplied by batteries (type: see "Technical data").
Do not use the device outdoors when it is raining, since the housing is not waterproof.
Direct contact with sources of high humidity is also to be avoided.
Any use, other than that described above, may lead to damage to the megaphone and involves other risks,
such as short circuit, fire and electric shock.
No part of the product may be modified or rebuilt.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times.

ty instructions! We do not assume liability for any resulting damage.
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper use
or non-compliance with the safety instructions. The warranty will be void in such cases.

information on its correct operation.

• For safety and approval (CE) reasons, unauthorised conversion and/or modifications to the product are not
permitted.
• Please make sure that you the megaphone correctly. Therefore, please follow the operating instructions
carefully.
• This product is not a toy, it is not suitable for children. Children are not aware of the potential dangers
involved when using electrical devices.
• Never pour any liquids on to electric devices and do not place any liquid-filled objects on them.
• Do not place naked flames, such as burning candles, near the device.
• The product generates very high acoustic pressure, which can lead to hearing damage on direct exposure.
Therefore, please use the device responsibly and do not point it directly at people or animals. Keep a suf-
ficient distance from people and animals when using the device and do not use it inside small rooms.
• Do not expose the megaphone to high temperatures, drips or water spray strong vibrations, as well as high
humidity.
• Only use the megaphone in temperate climates, avoid tropical environments.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a dangerous plaything for children.
• Moreover, please observe the additional safety instructions in the individual chapters of this operating manual.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's Liability Insurance
Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Materials are to be observed. As the operator, you must
obtain information from the authorities in charge and you are responsible for observing the applicable laws
and regulations.
• If you are in doubt about how to use the device correctly, or have any questions not covered by these oper-
ating instructions, please contact our technical support or another specialist.

Inserting Batteries / Replacing Batteries
Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
Ensure the polarity is correct, when inserting the batteries.
Remove the batteries when the device is not in use for longer periods of time.
Leaking or damaged batteries can lead to caustic burning of the skin. Therefore, use suit-
able protective gloves.
Do not use batteries with a different levels of charge, or from different manufacturers, at
the same time.
The batteries must not be short-circuited or thrown into a fire. Do not attempt to recharge
the batteries. There is danger of explosion.

• Turn the battery compartment cover (3) in the direction of the arrow OPEN.

• Pull the battery holder from the handle.
• Insert eight new 1.5V mignon cells (AA) in the battery compartment, and pay attention to the polarity. The

Operation
Normal announcement
• Turn the function switch (6) on the handle to the position MIC.
• Now set the desired volume, with the VOLUME (5) control.
• Press the release button (1) and, at the same time, speak into the microphone (7).
Siren or whistling function
• Turn the function switch (6) on the handle to the desired position.
• Press the release button (1) to activate the corresponding function.
Use with clip-on microphone
• Attach the shoulder strap enclosed to the eyelet (2) on the handle.
• Plug the clip-on microphone into the connection jack (4) with the microphone symbol.
• Now set the desired volume, with the VOLUME (5) control.
• Speak into the clip-on microphone. The integrated microphone (7) is deactivated in this operating mode.
Maintenance and Care
Apart from replacing the batteries, the megaphone is maintenance-free.
Only clean the outside with a dry or slightly moistened cloth.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions as these may damage the surface of the housing.
Disposal
Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable batter-
ies; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment..

Once the microphone is plugged in, the megaphone is operational. There is no need to
press the release button (1).
If the function switch (6) is moved to the position for siren or whistling, the corresponding
tone is emitted without activating the release button (1).
Unplug the clip-on microphone, if you are not going to use the megaphone for a while,
otherwise the batteries will discharge.
If there is acoustic feedback during use (loud whistling noise), reduce the volume or try pointing
the megaphone in another direction.
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current statutory
requirements.
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to indi-
cate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden.
The symbols for dangerous heavy metal constituents are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg =
Mercury, Pb = Lead.
You can return your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge to the official
collection points in your municipality, in our stores, or anywhere where batteries or
rechargeable batteries are sold.
