Intended Use
The outdoor loudspeaker is intended to convert the electrical signals from ELA amplifiers and hi-fi amplifiers into audible sound
waves. It is only approved for connection to the loudspeaker outputs on such devices.
The product is designed according to protection class IP65, use outdoors is therefore possible.
Any other use than the one described above may lead to damage to the loudspeaker and involves other risks, such as short-
circuits, fire, etc.
No part of the product must be modified or rebuilt.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times.
This product complies with the applicable National and European specifications.

The lightning symbol indicates to the user important instructions in the operating manual that are to be
observed.
• For safety and approval (CE) reasons, unauthorised conversion and/or modifications to the product are not permitted.
• When connecting the ELA Wall Speaker, consult the safety instructions of the device to which it is to be connected.
• Do not place naked flames such as burning candles on the device.
• Only use the product in a moderate climate, never in tropical climates.
• Do not keep any magnetic storage media such as computer disks, videocassettes or suchlike near the loudspeaker as the
magnetic field from the loudspeaker may corrupt the information stored on these media.
• Do not listen to excessively loud music for long periods of time. This may damage your hearing.
• Do not expose the loudspeaker to high temperatures, mechanical loads and strong vibrations.
• This product is not a toy, it is not suitable for children. Children cannot judge the dangers involved when handling electrical
devices.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a dangerous plaything for children.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's Liability Insurance Association for Electrical
Systems and Operating Materials are to be observed. As the operator, you must obtain information from the authorities in
charge and you are responsible for observing the applicable laws and regulations.

Product Description
• Sonorous 2-way system
• Suitable for outdoor use
• Can be installed horizontally and vertically
• Can be connected to ELA or Hi-Fi amplifiers
• Robust and elegant plastic housing
Installation
Do not install the outdoor loudspeaker the the direct vicinity of screens such as, for example, TV sets or
computer monitors. The magnetic field of the speaker might distort the image on such devices.
Make sure that the area for the installation can support the weight of the loudspeaker.
The loudspeaker must to be fixed firmly to prevent it from falling and, thus, to avoid the risk of injuries.
• The outdoor loudspeaker can be mounted as shown in the following illustrations.
• Depending on the desired mounting location, install the enclosed support using screws that are suitable for the installation
surface.

Connection
Only connect the loudspeaker to suitable loudspeaker outputs on ELA or Hi-Fi amplifiers.
If the loudspeaker is to be connected to an ELA amplifier (70V or 100 V technique), this may only be carried
out by a suitably trained specialist who is familiar with the relevant safety regulations.
Always use the junction box enclosed to make the connection, since only in this way can the required pro-
tection against contact and damp in the connection be ensured.
Make sure that the connecting cable can not be pinched or damaged by sharp edges when making the
connection.
Make sure that the data for impedance and/or load stated in the Technical Data table are in agreement with
the data for the connected amplifier. Otherwise, the speaker or the amplifier may be damaged.
The amplifier, to which the loudspeaker is to be connected, must be disconnected from the power supply
while the connection is being made (unplug the power plug!).
• Lay the loudspeaker cables between the loudspeaker and the amplifier to the junction box.
• If the junction box is located outdoors, the cables from the amplifier must also be suitable for outdoor use.
• Pass the loudspeaker connection cables through the smaller aperture in the junction box.
• Place the amplifier connection cables through the larger aperture in the junction box.
• To ensure protection against damp, make sure the rubber grommets are attached neatly to the cables.

• Twist the loudspeaker's white and the violet wires and clip the two cables to the open connection terminal of the lustre terminal
(named X in the terminal connection diagram) in the junction box.
• Connect the loudspeaker's black wire to the negative connection cable from the ELA amplifier.
• Depending on the desired output settings, connect one of the remaining loudspeaker connection cables to the positive
connection cable from the ELA amplifier.

• The output power and thus, the volume of the loudspeaker, is determined by this output setting. The higher the output value
• Cut the open ends of the remaining loudspeaker cables and insulate the cable ends with suitable insulation tape. The loud-
Connection to a Hi-Fi Amplifier:
• Connect the loudspeaker's black cable to the Hi-Fi amplifier negative connection cable.
• Connect the loudspeaker's violet cable to the Hi-Fi amplifier's positive connection cable.
• Cut the open ends of the white cable and the remaining cables of the loudspeaker and insulate them with suitable insulation
Maintenance and Care
The outdoor loudspeaker is maintenance-free.
Only clean the outside with a dry or slightly moistened cloth. Make sure the sensitive loudspeaker membranes do not get
damaged.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions as the housing's surfaces or the membrane could be damaged.
