Read these instructions before use:
The fridge operates on both 110V AC (mains) and 12V DC (car/caravan/boat), which means it can be
used at home but also in the car, boat or caravan.
This fridge can both cool and heat because of the electrical thermal element. Furthermore, this ele-
ment is noiseless and does not need any harmful refrigerants.
The temperature can be brought down to approx. 15 degrees celsius below the outside temperature
under normal conditions.
When heating, a maximum of approx. 65 degrees celsius can be obtained with an outside temperature
of 25 degrees celsius.
Safety precautions:
- Using electric mains: connect to a socket with matching voltage, such as described on the appliance.
- This unit is intended for use with the supplied 12 volt DC power source(converter). DO NOT at-
tempt to use with any other power source.
- This unit is intended for portable use ONLY; it is not designed to be built-in or recessed - this would
interfere with the unit's air dissipation system, and could cause a fire or other safety hazard.
- Never allow the unit or the AC/DC converter to be immersed in water or liquid. This will void the
warranty.
- Do not overload the unit.
- Do not leave the unit plugged in if you are not planning to use the unit for an extended period of time.
- Food stored using the HOT setting must be consumed within several hours or discarded as the HOT
setting will not safely store food for periods longer than a few hours.
- Switch off the appliance completely for at least 5 minutes when switching between heating and
cooling.
- Do not use this fridge when the cord, the plug or the fridge itself is damaged.
- There are no user serviceable parts inside. Please leave servicing to a qualified service technician.
Call us toll-free at 1-800-287-4871 to locate the service centre near you.
- When used in a car, users are strongly advised to turn off and disconnect the unit when the car engine
is turned OFF. Otherwise the car battery can be discharged as the unit drains power continuously.
Storage:
- Place the fridge on a stable, fiat surface.
- Protect from falling during transport or movement of the vehicle (but keep the ventilation holes free)
- Do not place in a completely closed off area, such as a boot/trunk as adequate ventilation is required
and free flow of air around the unit.
- For optimal functioning, do not place this fridge in direct sunlight.
- Do not place the fridge in humid or damp areas and to not place any wateror ice without paper
wrapping in the fridge.
Using the unit as a cooler / warmer using DC power:
1. Make sure the unit is in the OFF position
2. Insert the DC (cigarette type adapter) into the DC outlet in your vehicle
3. Switch the MODE switch to the COOL or WARM position.
4. The COOL (green) LED light or the WARM (red) LED light will turn on.
Using the unit as a cooler / warmer using AC power:
1. Make sure the unit is in the OFF position
2. Plug one end of the AC/DC converter into the power plug on the cooler.
3. Insert the AC plug into the wall outlet.
4. Switch the MODE switch to the COOL or WARM position.
5. The COOL (green) LED light or the WARM (red) LED light will turn on.
Troubleshooting Guide:
Unit is not functioning as a cooler or warmer (fan not running)
- Check if the DC power outlet is functioning by plugging in a different 12V appliance
- Make sure the key is in the ignition or that the unit is properly plugged in
- Check if the (household) fuse is not blown
- Make sure that the AC/DC cables are securely connected
Cooling or warming performance is low
- Fan area is blocked, move unit or object
- Check the environmental temperature, perhaps the environmental temperature is to high or to low
(i.e. unit is stored in direct sunlight).
