OPERATION

5.1 Setting the clock

1. Set the unit in standby mode.
2. Press and hold the "Menu/Mem/clk-adj" button (12), the display will show 24hour, press Skip down
(11) or Skip up
(19) button to select 12 or 24 hrs format, then press "Menu/Mem/clk-adj" button
(12) to confirm, the hour digit will flash on the LCD display (8). Press the Skip down
(19) button to set the correct hour. Press the "Menu/Mem/clk-adj" button (12) to store the hour;
then the minute digit will flash.
3. Press the Skip down
4. Press the "Menu/Mem/clk-adj" button (12) to store the correct hour.
The pre-set time will be re-set completely if you disconnect the main power supply. You are
recommended to switch the system into standby mode for convenience usage.
The clock will synchronize with the RDS/DAB clock once it receives the RDS/DAB signal if the clock
was not set in advance.

5.2 Listening to radio

Operation
Manual tuning
1. Turn on the unit by the On/Off button (17) & then press the Function button (9) until it reaches the "FM"
mode.
2. Press the Skip down
3. Adjust the volume up/down button (14) for the desired volume level.
Auto tuning
1. Set the unit to the FM mode.
2. Press the auto scan button (18) once, the unit will start to scan at tuning up directly until the radio
station is received. Press the tuning down button (11) once and then press the auto scan button (18),
the unit will scan to the tuning down direction. If the radio data system (RDS) broadcasting signal is
received, the unit will set the actual time automatically.
3. Adjust the volume knob (14) for the desired volume level.
FM scan setting
If, after auto tuning, many unwanted weak radio stations are received, you can select 'strong stations only'
to filter out the weak signal stations.
1. In FM mode, press "Menu/Mem/clk-adj" button (12) to enter the "Menu", then press the Skip down
(11) or Skip up
2. Press "Stop/Enter" button (10) to enter the "Scan setting", then press the Skip down
up
(19) button to select "Strong stations only". Then press "Stop/Enter" button (10) to confirm the
setting.
3. Perform the auto tuning operation again as above.
FM & FM-stereo reception
 The unit's default is the FM mode at Mono. Thus, if FM stereo signal received, set the FM mode to
Stereo by pressing the Menu button (12), then press the Skip down
button to select Audio setting, press the Enter button (10) and press Skip down
(19) again to select FM stereo, then press the Enter button (10) to confirm. When stereo signals are
weak and noisy, it is preferable to change the FM mode by same procedure.
Hints for best reception:
FM: the receiver has a rod antenna (6) hanging at the rear cabinet. This wire should be totally unraveled
and extended for the best reception.
Radio data system (RDS)
This is the feature to display the information which is released from the radio broadcast and will be shown
on the LCD display step by step as below by pressing the Play mode/info button (21) continuously.
