6 Description and function
6.1 Description (Fig. 2)
The Wilo DrainLift WS625 consists of a plastic
shaft (item 1) with strong ribbing (item 1a) on the
perimeter. The ribbing guarantees the high
dimensional stability of the plastic shaft and
anchors it in the ground against uplift forces. The
plastic shaft has an inflow connection (item 3) and
a ventilation/cable duct connection (item 4). The
Wilo DrainLift WS625 is equipped with internal
pipework as standard (item 2) for connecting a
pump (item 10, not included in the scope of sup-
ply) by means of a pressure pipe (item 6, not
included in the scope of supply).Further accesso-
ries are necessary if it is used as a pump station (cf.
Accessories).
6.2 Function (Fig. 2)
The pump station works in conjunction with the
pump (item 10, accessories) and the level control
system (accessories, to be used depending on the
type of pump) fully automatically. Sewage flowing
in via the inflow connection (item 3) is collected in
the plastic shaft (item1) first of all. If the accumu-
lated sewage rises above the switch-on level, the
level control system switches the pump on. The
pump pumps the sewage via the pressure pipe
(item 6), the internal pipework (item 2) and the
pressure outlet (item 2a) into the pressure pipe on
site. If the sewage level drops below the switch-
off level, the level control system switches the
pump off. The non-return valve (item 7) in the
pressure pipe (item 6) prevents the backflow of
the sewage from the site pressure pipe.

7 Installation and electrical connection
DANGER! Danger of death!
Incorrect installation and incorrect electrical
connection can result in death.
• The installation and electrical work must only be
done by qualified personnel and in accordance
with the regulations in force!
• Accident prevention regulations must be
observed!
7.1 Installation
WARNING! Risk of injury!
People may fall into the open shaft and suffer
serious injury.
• Once the plastic shaft is installed, always close it
with a Wilo shaft cover that is suitable for the
application.
• Have a Wilo shaft cover available when the
installation work starts.
CAUTION! Risk of damage!
Incorrect installation can result in damage to the
product.
• Only use qualified personnel for the installation
work!
• Install and check the pump station according to
the relevant standards, e.g. EN 1610 (Laying and
checking sewage pipes and drains)!
• Observe national and regional regulations!
• Observe the installation and operating instruc-
tions for the accessories!
7.1.1 Shaft installation
• Select a suitable place for installing the shaft
(Fig. 1/Fig. 2).
- Take into account the necessary trench depth
H + X -Y:
H: height of plastic shaft,
X: Sand bed thickness, X 200 mm,
Y: max. admissible shortening of the plastic
shaft, Y 100 mm.
- Take into account the position of the inflow
connection, pressure outlet and ventilation
connection.
- Take into account depth A of the inflow con-
nection and a 3-5 % fall for the inflow pipe. If
the plastic shaft is shortened, the depth A is
reduced by the dimension Y.
CAUTION! Risk of damage!
If the plastic shaft is shortened, there is a risk of
frost damage to the pressure outlet pipe. Note
the frost depth!
- Take into account the cable length of pump and
level control system so that they can be lifted
out of the shaft.
- Have a shaft cover available (order separately,
see Accessories)
