Prior to the first use, have the unit checked by a qualified person.

The unit contains voltage carrying parts. DO NOT open the mixer.

When you unplug the unit from the mains always pull the plug, never the lead.

Never plug or unplug the unit with wet hands.

If the plug and/or mains lead are damaged, they need to be repaired by a qualified technician.

If the unit is damaged to an extent that you can see internal parts, do not plug the unit into a
mains outlet.

Repairs and lamp replacement has to be carried out by a qualified technician.

Only connect this unit to an earthed mains outlet of 230Vac/50Hz and 10-16A.

Do no place the unit near heat sources.

Always unplug the unit during a thunderstorm or when it is not in use.

If the unit has not been used for a longer period of time, condensation can occur inside the
housing. Please let the unit reach room temperature prior to use.

Keep out of the reach of children.

All channel controls and the master volume control must be set to zero prior to switching the
unit on.

To prevent clipping of the amplifier do not set the volume level too high.

Switch the amplifier on at latest and switch it off at first.

Do not use cleaning sprays for the slider controls. The residues of these spray cause dust
deposits in the controls. If a problem occurs, please consult a specialist.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The TEC-140 mixers features two input channels and one microphone input, all fitted with a 3-band
frequency control. The two channels are fitted with slider controls. Moreover the unit features a signal
strength meter via LEDs allowing an accurate setting of the signal level to the amplifier. The signal
level is set via the volume control for the master volume. The built-in stereo headphones amplifier
features a separate volume control. The TEC-140 mixer has a built-in 230V power supply. The unit
can be used free standing or rack mounted. Connect the mixer only to a 230Vac/50Hz mains outlet.
For indoor use only. Do not attempt to repair the unit yourself (except for the replacement of the
crossfader). Repairs should only be carried out by a qualified repair service.
CONNECTIONS AND SETTINGS
CHANNELS 1 & 2
These two stereo channels are totally identical. The inputs are suitable for a CD player or a turntable.
The RCA sockets for the CD player (LINE: 24/25a) and turntable (PHONO: 24/25b) are located at the
rear panel. Every channel is fitted with a selector switch for PHONO and LINE (2) a GAIN control for
the input sensitivity (3), a 3-band tone control (4/5/6) and a sound level slider control (7).
SOUND LEVEL SETTING
Set the VU-meter (14) to CUE and select the channel to be set via the CUE SELECT switch (16). Set
the GAIN in such a way that the level on the VU-meter displays about 0dB. Set the tone control as
required. If necessary adjust the GAIN again so that the VU-meter display once again about 0dB.
MICROPHONE SECTION
The microphone jack (6.3mm) can be connected on the top (12) or at the front panel (26) depending
on which location is more convenient for the user. ONLY CONNECT ONE MICROPHONE. The
microphone channel features a 3-band tone control (8/9/10) and a sound level control (11).
