ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
•
Line up the holes on the back wheels (5) with the matching holes on the base (1).
•
Slide the leg extensions (9) into the open ends of the base. Install R-clips (7) and
lock pins (8) to secure leg extensions to the base.
•
With the help of an assistant, install the upright mast (17) onto the base using bolts
(4), washers (3) and nuts (2). install the mast braces (11) onto the base using bolts
(4), washers (3) and nuts (2). Align holes at the upper end of the mast braces with
the second hole from the top in the upright mast and fasten using bolt (18), washer
(15) and nut (16). Once aligned, tightened the bolts securely.
•
Install the hydraulic ram (14) to the support bracket on the upright mast using bolt
(12), washer (15) and nut (16). Once secured, lean the hydraulic ram against the
upright mast temporarily.
•
Install the boom (26) on the top of the upright mast and secure with bolt (30),
washer (15) and nut (16).
•
Align and install the top of the hydraulic ram into the welded fork on the boom and
secure with bolt (22), washer (15) and nut (16).
•
Slide boom extension (27) onto boom and secure with lock pin with metal cable
(25) and R-clip (7).
•
Line up four holes on the push bar (19) with the threaded holes at the rear of the
upright mast. Install washers (20) to bolts (21) and thread into holes.
•
Install the hook and chain (29) at the end of the boom extension using bolt (28),
washer (3) and nut (2).
•
Slide the handle (13) on the socket on the hydraulic ram.
•
Follow the air purge instructions if air gets trapped in the hydraulic system during
the transportation (see BLEEDING THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM ).
NOTE:
An assistant is required to assemble this unit and minimize
potential hazards and/or injury.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
•
Lock the boom in place for the proper weight marking using the lock pin BEFORE
APPLYING THE LOAD TO THE LIFT. Do not exceed the rates capacity and travel
limits of the equipment.
•
Use appropriate levellers, slings or chains around the load capable of sustaining the
load before using the hook to lift it. Make sure that the latching mechanism is
working properly before moving the load.
•
Once the load is securely hooked in place, lift the load by turning the release valve
clockwise until closed, and pumping the jack until the load is clear of any
obstruction. Move very carefully, avoiding slopes, in the direction of travel. Avoid
sudden or swinging movements of the load. To lower the load, turn the release
valve on the hydraulic jack counter-clockwise very slowly.
BLEEDING THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
Bleed excess air from the hydraulic system as follows:
•
Open the release valve by turning it counter-clockwise.
•
Remove the oil filler screw and fill the pump with hydraulic fluid.
•
Wait 5 minutes for trapped air to rise to the surface.
•
Pump the handle or pedal for several full strokes to eliminate any air in the system.
•
Check the oil filler hole and if necessary, top off with more hydraulic oil.
•
Restore the oil filler screw. Close the release valve by turning clockwise.
•
Test the ram several times for proper operation before putting it into use. Do not use
the ram if it still does not appear to be working properly. Have a qualified service
technician service or repair the hydraulic system.
