OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
This speaker system is for use with AIWA stereo receiver equipped
with Dolby Surround system.
OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
• The nominal impedance of the speakers is 8 ohms. Therefore, make
sure that the connected receiver is equipped with 8-ohm output
terminals.
• Do not use the speakers in places which are extremely hot, dusty or
humid.
• Do not leave objects which generate magnetism near the speakers.
• When the cabinet gets dirty, wipe it with a cloth soaked in mild
detergent. Never use thinner or similar products as they will spoil the
finish.
• Either of the two front or surround speakers can be connected to R
(Right) or L (Left) terminal.
CONNECTIONS
Before connecting the speakers, turn off the power of your stereo
receiver.
100 feet of 20 gauge speaker cord is supplied for connection of the system.
Please cut to the desired length and strip approximately
from each wire. (See illustration A.)
1 Connect the cords to the speakers
Connect the ends of the blue stripe cords to the red + terminals and
the ends of the other cords to the black – terminals on the speakers.
2 Connect the other ends of the cords to the speaker
terminals on the stereo receiver.
• Front speaker cords: to the FRONT SPEAKERS terminals
• Center speaker cords: to the CENTER SPEAKER terminals
• Rear speaker cords: to the SURROUND SPEAKERS terminals
NOTE
• In step 2, the + terminals on the speaker should be connected to the
+ terminals on the stereo receiver (and – to –).
• Refer to the Operating Instructions of AIWA stereo receiver for further
information of connecting and positioning the speakers.
TO MOUNT THE FRONT AND SURROUND
SPEAKERS ON A WALL b B, C
B Use wall mounting screws (not supplied).
Select a spot that will hold the weight of the speakers and carefully
mount the speakers so that they are firmly secured.
C Use a speaker mounting kit (not supplied)
The front and surround speakers are equipped with a "
insert on the backs. When attaching a part of the kit, such as a ball
shaft, insert and rotate it into the threaded female insert on the
speaker.
For further information, refer to the instructions of the mounting kit.
AIWA disclaims any responsibility for injury to persons or other
accidents caused by not fitting the speakers properly or if the
place of the installation is not suitable.
