Releasing rope (unloading the rope)
After the load has reached the desired location, the rope is normally taut; releasing
the hooks is not possible. Similarly, the locking hook "L" cannot be released.
Never attempt to release the hooks or the locking hook by using force or a tool. This
can lead not only to serious injury, but also to damage to the manual wire rope hoist.
Proceed as follows:
1. Bring the lock "M" for the release spring to the
"RELEASE" position (see imprint next to the
lock). In this position, the lever "E" can move
freely, the release hook "I" does not reach into
the ratchet wheel "J".
2. Move the lever up to the stop in the direction of
hook 1 ("A"); see the arrow in the picture to the
right.
The lever thereby activates the locking hook "L"
so that the pulley can turn a little. At the same
time, however, the release hook "I" prevents the
pulley from turning further more than a bit.
3. Release the lever "E" a bit again; now the locking hook "L" secures the pulley "J" with the
ratchet wheel again.
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 until the tensioned rope has released itself. However, during this process,
make sure that the load is correctly secured.
5. Remove both hooks from the load and the suspension element.
Rolling up rope, ending operation
• Bring the lock "M" for the release spring to the "PULL" position (see imprint next to the lock).
The release hook "I" reaches into the ratchet wheel "J" once again.
• Now, when you turn the lever "E", the release hook "I" moves the ratchet wheel "J" with the
pulley.
The locking hook "L" prevents the pulley from moving backward in this process.
• Move the lever "E" back and forth as often as needed until the rope is rolled up. In the process,
make sure that the rope is rolled onto the pulley correctly and does not get tangled.
• Then, store the manual wire rope hoist in a clean, dry place; if needed, clean it fi rst.
