B/ AC voltage detector function
• AC voltage detection :
1/ Set the selector switch to "II" (3).
Do not open the metal detector.
2/ Turn the sensitivity cursor (2) to the
maximum position.
3/ Move the AC voltage detection zone
(9) of the device close to or across
the surface to be tested.
4/ When the device comes close to a hot
AC wire, the buzzer sounds and the
LED lights up.
5/ To locate the position of the wire
more precisely, reduce the sensitivity
by turning the button backwards
slightly, then try again.
Note :
- Scraping or knocking the device against the wall may generate
static electricity and lead to an incorrect result.
- Leakage currents: due to the extremely low current needed for
the device to give a signal, a strange indication may occur in cer-
tain situations. i.e. If a conductor with poor insulation is touching
a damp wall, the device will indicate that there is voltage on the
wall. In this situation, the device indicates a potential danger
which must be checked with a voltmeter.
• Distinction between the live wire and the zero line :
1/ Set the selector switch to "II" (3).
2/ Turn the sensitivity cursor (2) to the maximum position.
3/ Place the AC voltage detection zone (9) of the device close to
the wires to be tested.
