Introduction
As a result of suggestions from customers and the Delta Support Team we would like to inform you of some important additional
instructions when connecting the SOLIVIA CS / CM EU G3 modular central inverter. We added the following supplements to the
operation and installation manual for the SOLIVIA CS EU G3 and SOLIVIA CM EU G3, in section 6.3 "Connection", sub-sections
6.3.1 to 6.3.4:
1.
The cable cross-section ranges and torques shown under 6.3.1 apply only to copper wires.
2.
We would like to draw our customers' attention to the fact that it is necessary to check and ensure that existing PV installations
with the modular central inverter SOLIVIA CS / CM EU G3 do in fact respect the torque limits set out in section 6.3.1.
3.
If other conductive materials are used, then the relevant cable cross-sections, attachment procedures and torques must be
complied with.
This document provides an overview of the connection procedure of aluminium conductors, their material properties and what
needs to be observed when connecting the terminals.

2.1
Phoenix Contact product description
This universal high-current terminal covers the range from 35-150 max. mm². A reliable connection is ensured by employing effec-
tive measures when fitting. The conductor cross-sections shown in the data sheet under connection data refer to copper as the
conductive material.
Examples:
•
Three point conductor centring using a prismatic casing base
•
The riffled surface ensures low impedance
•
Secured with spring loaded screws
The terminals are equipped with a half-shell insulated casing made from polyamide 6.6.
The UKH 150 terminal was tested by the Phoenix Contact test-lab from 05/2010 to 12/2010 using
Test-report PB_12477_UKH-HDFK-UW_Aluminium_Conductors_Results_K_00_GB for the following aluminium conductors by
adhering to the special instructions for connecting aluminium materials mentioned further down:
•
Al 120 mm² solid single stranded, sector
•
Al 150 mm² solid single stranded, sector
A test approval does not exist for Al 95 mm² and therefore according to the manufacturers' instructions, shall not be used!
Special instructions for 120 mm² and 150 mm²:
•
The oxidation skin/layer at the conductor's end must be removed by scraping.
•
Immediately afterwards, the treated conductor shall be dipped into acid-free and alkaline-free material, i.e. neutral Vaseline.
•
The installation location shall be kept largely free of humidity or aggressive ambient environments.
•
When replacing a connector, the conductor shall again be prepared in the same manner.
•
The maximum torque must be adhered to (25-30 Nm) and must be checked on initial connection prior to operation, and again
after 200 hours (recommended).
