8. POSSIBLE MALFUNCTIONS AND THEIR CAUSES :
Malfunction:
WAH does not start
WAH starts, there is ignition
but the solenoid valve does
not open.......fault shutdown.
WAH starts ; no ignition
Solenoid valve opens,
gas flows in........fault shutdown.
WAH starts, there is ignition,
solenoid valve opens, gas flows
in and is ignited..........after several
seconds fault shutdown occurs.
WAH starts ; ignition present,
solenoid valve opens, no gas
flows in........fault shutdown.
WAH occasionally goes to fault.
Cause:
There is no room thermostat
connected or bridge
missing
Room thermostat incorrectly set
Electrical power supply
Gas supply
Relay defect (Item 18)
Safety thermostat triggered or is
defective (Item 8 )
Automatic gas firing unit
defective (Item 9 )
Infrared flicker detector defective
(Item 2) or exposed to outside
light
Infrared flicker detector gives a
flame signal during the lead-in
time (red LED), although no
flame has been established.
