Replacement Cartridge
IMPORTANT: Read these instructions before
proceeding to replace the cartridge in a Midwest
Quiet Air or Insight Handpiece.
Before replacing the cartridge, carefully examine
handpiece head for dents. If there are any dents in
the head, return the entire handpiece to your dealer
for repairs. Do not install replacement cartridge into
a dented handpiece. Installation will permanently
damage cartridge.
1. Unscrew the cap from the handpiece using the
two pins on the "T" wrench, supplied with the
replacement cartridge. Remove worn cartridge
using the end of the "T" wrench.
2. Push worn O-ring and spring washer out of
handpiece head using handle bar of "T" wrench.
A dental explorer may also be used, if necessary.
3. Remove all foreign material and debris from
interior of handpiece head. Clean and lubricate
interior of head with handpiece lubricant/
cleaner.
1. Replacement cartridge should have an O-ring
on the front bearing (located on the bur end).
If O-ring is not on the bearing, install it with
finger tips. Then, mount spring washer on top of
O-ring. The winged edges of the spring washer
should be pointing away from cartridge. If not
already in place, insert cartridge into cap.
2. Holding cartridge (in cap) upright, screw
replacement cartridge slowly into handpiece
until slight resistance is encountered. Using "T"
wrench, slowly turn cartridge in and out, while
Midwest Quiet Air or
Insight Handpiece
