2. Remove the front protective fairing of the disc (D)
by undoing the four lock nuts that secure it to the
after body. Use an M8 wrench.
3. The disc plate is attached to the motor shaft by a
threaded coupling. The connection has probably
hardened with the passage of time, and the
application of loosening oil is advisable. Allow it a
few minutes to take effect.
4. To remove the disc, connect the drive shaft by
applying the M13 socket wrench supplied with
the unit to the rear end of the shaft. The wrench
has a useful rod-arm that can be so placed that it
comes to a stop at the surface on which the unit
rests, preventing unwanted shaft rotation while
the disc is being changed.
5. Apply the M24 spanner (also supplied with the
unit) to the two grooves in the plate neck. Turn it
anticlockwise to free the thread. At the same time
ensure that the socket wrench properly locks the
motor shaft. If there is strong resistance, use a
nylon hammer very lightly on the end of the
spanner. Perform this last operation with extreme
care, since otherwise the motor shaft could be
damaged or put out of balance.
6. Fit the new disc, being especially careful not to
damage the coupler shaft stop. Rotate it
manually to check that it is free, and that there is
no significant warping.
7. Fit the housing and retighten its four lock nuts.
We recommend that loosening oil be applied to
all threaded connections a few minutes before an
abrasive disc is changed.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
To ensure correct, reliable, and enduring operation,
we recommend:
After use, clean dust and plaster from the support
surface (B) and from the front fairing (D).
For general cleaning, use a cloth dampened in
soapy water. Do not use alcohol, solvents, or
other liquids.
Never immerse the unit in liquid.
If you notice unusual vibration or noise, send the
unit to a technical assistance centre.
Change the abrasive disc when you notice a
significant fall in performance.

After changing the disc, check that there are no
unusual vibrations.
The unit was designed to endure sound
operation when it rests on the four suction cups
at the base. These are sufficient by themselves
to withstand the force applied in facing.
To ensure optimum performance, Talleres
Mestraitua, S.L. recommends the use of the
MESTRA Ref. 080086 catch basin, wich is
designed specifically for Ref. 080080, 080081,
080082 and 080083 cutters.
PRECAUTIONS
Before connecting the unit to the power supply,
make sure the voltage is correct (230 V, 50/60
Hz with earth).
Whenever you are carrying out a cut, protect
yourself suitably. Use gloves, safety goggles,
and mask.
Always use suction (only in the case of Ref.
080084). In the case of cutters Ref. 080080
and 08001, always use the system with disc-
cleaning by water.
Do
not
allow
personnel to operate the unit.
If the
motor shaft
operation, disconnect the unit from the power
supply before endeavouring to unlock the shaft
by forcing its rotation manually.
Do not polish, brush, or grind materials that
could release particles that are toxic when
inhaled.
Before using the unit, make sure it is seated on
a firm and solid base.
Do not use the unit close to solvents or other
inflammable materials.
After changing the disc, make sure that the
gasket belonging to the motor disc-shaft plate
coupling is leak-proof. Similarly check the
entire disc-flushing system.
When installing the unit, make sure that the
disc-cleaning circuit is perfectly leak-proof.
Do not face materials other than those for
which the unit has been designed, particularly
metal objects.
Do not interfere with the model supports when
the unit is operating.
