Applications:
Voltage converter plug-in adapter to supply
a 12V- trailer from a 24V trailer socket.
The converter is only suitable for electric
light bulbs and LED automotive lamps!
Configuration:
Input: 15-contact connector
Output: 13-contact socket

Hint:
Usually, the adapter works well with all light-
circuit controls. In old electro-mechanic direc-
tion indicator units, which were used until
1995, the trailer control lamp may not work,
even though the flashers are working cor-
rectly.
This error is not a defect of the converter,
but an inevitable incompatibility of the ap-
plied principle of the converter with magnetic
current-sensors. In that case, the converter
may not be used. Use the converter for fixed
mounting, Article no. 76121251 , which is also
available in our product range.

IMPORTANT
Make sure that tilting out of
the trailer or its extensions, the
connector will not be pushed aside
or the cable will not be pulled.
The converter is suitable for electric
light bulbs and LED automotive
lamps. The adapter only transmits
the lightning lines.
The left side rear lamp and the
right side rear lamp may not be
connectes on the trailer.
The connection of other electrical
devices is not allowed and can
result in them being destroyed.

Fitting Instructions
Installation:
The converter has to be connected to the 24V
contact socket of the trailer. The clamp has
to be locked to prevent the adapter from re-
leasing while driving. The contact socket of
the trailer also has to be snapped by screw-
ing into the bayonet nut connector.
Malfunctions:
All converter junctions are electrically com-
pletely separated. They have no ground con-
nection of their own. Function tests therefore
have to be executed with a base load of 5W.
Multimeters then only show values between
6 and 11V direct voltage. This value is not
correct, because the converter transmits the
24 V voltage 'fragmented' to the electric light
bulbs and the meter cannot show the ab-
sorbed power of the lightning bulbs. A per-
fect meter should show exactly 25% of the
input power. Each line is protected against
short circuits and overheating. The reset
takes place automatically once the cause of
error has been removed.

IMPORTANT
RMS-LEDs are working with
internal series resistors or other
suitable techniques.
If reduction of light intensity occurs
in RMS pulse operation the reduc-
tion must remain within the light
intensity limits of the ECE regula-
tions (R6, R7, R23, R38).
If series resistor technology is
used, light intensity reduction of
20% to 35% must be expected.
The nominal light intensity of the
LED lamp unit for 12V operation is
mentioned in the manufacturer's
ECE approval.
