Operating
Opening:
Turn the clamp handles 2 to 3 revolutions to the left, push the clamps away downwards,
and pull on the window to open it. The window will remain open itself in any position
required due to the click hinges.
Closing:
Check that the clamps are in the 'open' position. Push the window closed and push the
clamps upward and turn the handles until the porthole is securely closed.
Using the Mosquito Net:
Open the porthole fully and position the mosquito net in the frame from the inside. It is
possible to closed the porthole WITHOUT removing the mosquito net.
Fitting
The porthole can be fitted in a surface with a minimum thickness of 3 mm. and a maximum
thickness of 45 mm.
Draw the hole to be cut out using the porthole frame, for the main dimensions, see page
14.
Cut the hole by sawing in polyester, aluminium or wood, or by acetylene cutting for steel.
Remove all burrs carefully and smooth the edges.
For fitting the frame and backplate with screws through the surface, see Drawing 1, (2) =
fitting. For fixing backplate and frame with staggered screws, see Drawing 2, (2) = fitting.
Position the porthole and backplate respectively in the hole and mark the fixing holes for
frame and backplate. Drill the holes and remove any burrs.
Apply a sufficient amount of sealant to ensure a good seal, see Drawings 1 and 2, (1) =
sealant.
Position the hatch in the hole.
Fixing Screws:
See Drawings 1 and 2.
Fit the screws and tighten up securely.
Maintenance
Adjusting clamps:
Turn the clamp handles again if the porthole does not close, see Operation, Closing.
Adjusting Hinges:
Re-adjust the hinges if the porthole does not remain open, see Drawing 3.
