INSTALLATION
The pump must be lifted and transported using the
eyebolt, and not the electric power cable: if the cable
is damaged it could cause malfunctions and serious
accidents.
Place the pump with the axle vertical on the bottom of
the sump or installation site.
Ensure that the pumped liquid does not contain or
cannot generate explosive gassy mixtures: always
ensure that the tank (sump) is well ventilated and that
gas cannot build up.
The tank must be dimensioned so that:
the useful volume limits the starts per hour of the
pump: for this refer to the previous paragraph with
the specified maximum number of starts allowed.
when the pump is not being used, hard sediments must not be allowed to form.
TRASPORTABLE INSTALLATION
Fix a cable or safety chain in imperishable material to the eyebolt on
the pump.
If a plastic or flexible delivery pipe is used, always use the safety
cable to lift, lower, transport and anchor the pump.
Never use the power cable to hold the pump. Always ensure that the
safety cable used to lower the pumps is firmly secured to the top
edge of the sump or manhole.
Use clamps to fix the power cable to the safety cable or delivery pipe:
if the delivery pipe is flexible,leave the cable loose to prevent any
tension caused by the pipe dilating when it is loaded.
Even with transportable installations, it is always advisable that
the pump is never suspended but placedon a solid base when it is
working.
FIXED INSTALLATION WITH COUPLING FOOT
For the pumps that provide this option, proceed as follows:
fix the coupling foot on the bottom of the tank using expansion bolts;
install the delivery pipe, check valve and gate valve:
to service and clean the valve, the gate and check
valves should be installed on easily accessible places
on horizontal stretches of piping, with the gate valve
downstream from the check valve;
engage the two pipe guides on the coupling foot,
fixing them in the upper part using the pipe guide
bracket and relative seals and threaded washers (to
ensure the two pipe guides are perfectly parallel
with each other);
fix the coupling slide to the pump and using a
chain or cable (in imperishable material) hooked to
the eyebolt on the motor cover, lower the pump:
following one of the pipe guides it will couple
perfectly with the foot.
This is the most convenient solution for fixed installations, because the pump can be easily
and quickly extracted and repositioned in the tank, meaning the pump can be serviced and
cleaned without having to empty the tank or unbolt any parts.
