b) Changing volume
After the neutral and full throttle positions for driving forward and in reverse have been pro-
grammed, the sound simulator is ready to use.
The engine noise simulation starts when you briefly tap the lever for the motor controller (gas/
brake lever) on your transmitter.
Using the "+" button, you can increase the volume by steps; with the "-" button, the volume can
be decreased stepwise. In the lowest setting, the speaker is turned off.
Attention, important!
In principle, the sound simulator is designed for operation with a 2 - 3-cell LiPo drive
battery (or a 5 - 9-cell NiMH drive battery).
Operation with a rechargeable battery with more cells is possible, but in this case, the
volume control must not be set beyond the fifth level. Failure to observe this limit can
destroy the speaker due to overloading! Loss of warranty!
The electronics have a temperature monitor. If too much heat is generated, the elec-
tronics are switched off. After a cool-down phase, the electronics are again ready
for operation. The electronics can overheat due to faulty cooling and/or too high a
volume (at higher input voltage) of the speaker. Investigate the cause and remedy
it.
c) Changing or downloading noise files
The sound file present on the sound simulator on delivery can be changed as you desire using
special software. You also have the option of downloading additional sound files for free.
You can find both the software and the sound files at www.conrad.com on the webpage for
the product.
To change the present sound file, you must first store the software on your computer and
install/start it.
Connect the receiver plug of the sound simulator (2) to the USB adapter (6). In doing so, pay
attention to the polarity labels on the housing of the USB adapter.
Then plug the USB adapter into a free USB port of your computer.
You can now change the sound files as you wish using the software.
Disposal
a) General
The product does not belong in the household garbage.
Dispose of the product at the end of its useable life according to the applicable legal
requirements.
b) Batteries and rechargeable batteries
As the end consumer, you are legally obligated (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries
and rechargeable batteries; disposal in the household garbage is prohibited!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing hazardous materials are marked with
the symbol opposite, which denotes the prohibition against disposal in the hou-
sehold garbage. The designations for the essential heavy metal are: Cd=cadmium,
Hg=mercury, Pb=lead (label is on the battery, e.g., under the rubbish bin symbol
pictured left).
You can return your used batteries at no cost at the collection points of your community, our
stores or anywhere batteries/rechargeable batteries are sold.
You thereby fulfil your legal obligations and do your part to protect the environment.
Technical Data
The electronics of the sound simulator are supplied with power via the BEC of the
speed controller (BEC voltage 4 - 8 V/DC required); because of the high power con-
sumption during the sound playback, the amplifier is supplied with power directly from
the drive battery (5 - 26 V/DC).
The amplifier must not be operated via the BEC of the speed controller, but rather
directly via the drive battery.
