WARNING AND CAUTIONS:

• TO PREVENT THE RISK OF FIRE, SHOCK OR DEATH, ENSURE THAT THE INLET AND CONNECTING CABLES ARE NOT CONNECTED TO A POWER SOURCE
DURING INSTALLATION.
• FOR 30 AMP INLETS USE ONLY 10 AWG OR LARGER CABLE.
• FOR 50 AMP INLETS USE ONLY 6 AWG OR LARGER CABLE.
• DO NOT USE SMALLER GAUGE CABLE.
NOTE: Installation of power inlets by boat builders requires compliance with Federal Regulations in accordance with the requirements in the American Boat and Yacht Council
(ABYC) Std. E-8-1985, National Fire Protection Association Standard for Pleasure and Commercial Motor Craft, NFPA No. 302-1987, and the United States Coast Guard (USCG)
Regulations Title 33, Chapter 1, CFR, Part 183.
Enclosed with 30 Amp Power Inlet:
(1) Rubber Sealing Gasket and (1) Rear Cup assembled with strain relief clamp.
Enclosed with 50 Amp Power Inlet:
(1) Rubber Sealing Gasket, (1) Rear Cup with strain relief clamp and nut assembled, (1) optional strain relief Insert and (1) rubber Bushing (not assembled).
TO INSTALL:
1. Determine the mounting position of your power inlet. Using the rubber sealing gasket included with your inlet, mark a basic outline of the gasket and the center of the
inside circle.
2. Using a 2-3/4" hole saw, cut out the center circular hole.
3. Place your inlet in the new opening and mark the (4) mounting screw/bolt hole positions.
4. Remove the inlet from the opening and using a 1/8" drill bit, drill the (4) mounting screw/bolt holes.
5. Feed the internal cable through the new opening.
For 30 Amp Power Inlet ONLY: Remove the rear cup from the inlet. Unscrew the (2) screws on the rear cup and remove the strain relief clamp. Feed the power cable through
the cable opening in the rear cup.
For 50 Amp Power Inlet ONLY: Remove the Rear Cup Assembly from the box. Loosen the cable strain relief nut at the back end of the rear cup. Feed the power cable through
the nut and clamp in rear cup. NOTE: Optional strain relief insert and bushing are provided for larger cable size. When using optional strain relief insert and bushing, remove the
nut and clamp from the back end of rear cup. Place strain relief insert and bushing into the back end of the rear cup. Once insert and bushing are in place, loosely reassemble
the nut onto the back end of rear cup. Feed the power cable thru the cable opening in the rear cup.
6. Feed the cable through the rubber sealing gasket.
7. Strip 1-1/2" off the cable cord jacket.
8. Strip 5/8" insulation off each conductor wire. Make sure the wires are corrosion free. DO NOT solder ends of wire. Twist all strands of each conductor tightly together. Insert the
wires into the proper wire well on the back of the inlet.
CAUTION:
COPPER CONDUCTORS MUST BE FULLY INSERTED INTO WIRE WELLS. TERMINAL CLAMPS MUST TIGHTEN ONTO BARE CONDUCTORS, NOT
INSULATION. CUT OFF ANY STRAY STRANDS.
125 Volt, 3Wire: Black "X"– Load (125V)
White "W" – Neutral
Green "G" – Ground
9. Tighten terminal screws for each inlet:
30 Amp: 14 – 16 in-lbs torque
50 Amp: 22 – 25 in-lbs torque
NOTE: DO NOT use an electric or pneumatic screwdriver when tightening terminals.
10. Rear Cup and Inlet Assembly:
For 30 Amp Inlet: Slide the rear cup over the inlet terminal connections. Position the (4) keys on the back of the rear cup with the (4) slots on the cover plate. Assemble the rear
cup onto the back of the cover plate. Make sure the rear cup is fully seated. Fasten the strain relief clamp to the rear cup using the (2) screws previously removed. Tighten the
strain relief clamp until cable is secure. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
For 50 Amp Inlet: Slide the rear cup over the inlet terminal connections and fasten using the (2) screws on inlet face. Tighten the back cable strain relief nut using a 1-5/8"
wrench.
11. Align the gasket and inlet in the opening. Align the mounting holes and fasten the inlet with (4) stainless steel screws/bolts (not included) to the mounting surface.
Installation is complete.
Leviton warrants to the original consumer purchaser and not for the benefit of anyone else that this product at the time of its sale by Leviton is free of defects in materials and workmanship under normal and
proper use for two years from the purchase date. Leviton's only obligation is to correct such defects by repair or replacement, at its option, if within such two year period the product is returned prepaid, with proof
of purchase date, and a description of the problem to Leviton Manufacturing Co., Inc., Att: Quality Assurance Department, 201 North Service Road, Melville, New York 11747. This warranty excludes
and there is disclaimed liability for labor for removal of this product or reinstallation. This warranty is void if this product is installed improperly or in an improper environment, overloaded, misused, opened,
abused, or altered in any manner, or is not used under normal operating conditions or not in accordance with any labels or instructions. There are no other or implied warranties of any kind, including
merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, but if any implied warranty is required by the applicable jurisdiction, the duration of any such implied warranty, including merchantability and fitness for
a particular purpose, is limited to two years. Leviton is not liable for incidental, indirect, special, or consequential damages, including without limitation, damage to, or loss of use of, any equipment,
lost sales or profits or delay or failure to perform this warranty obligation. The remedies provided herein are the exclusive remedies under this warranty, whether based on contract, tort or otherwise.
