Installation and Connection
Pay attention to the information in the chapter "Preparations for Installation"!
• Think about the location of the LED light. Plan the installation location carefully if you want to
install more than one LED light (lighting a kitchen workspace, for instance).
• The LED light can be screwed into place via two openings. Use screws and, if necessary,
screw anchors that are suitable for the surface.
Pay attention when drilling and tightening the screws that no cables or pipes are damaged.
When, for instance, mounting under a kitchen cabinet, make sure that the screws are not too
long.
• The light features a plug that is protected against reverse polarity. A short connecting cable
with the corresponding counterpart for the plug of the light is enclosed in the package. This
facilitates the connection.
Connect the two wires of the connecting cable to a suitable LED driver. The red cable must
be connected to the positive pole (+), the black cable to the negative pole (-).
Use connection terminals, if required, to avoid short circuits.
Caution!
The LED light can be operated only with a constant current source (e.g. also called
LED driver). To this end, refer to the chapter "Technical Data".
Never use a commercially available halogen transformer or power supply unit; doing
so will damage the LED light, loss of guarantee!
Multiple lights operated with constant current should never be connected in parallel.
In case of doubt, consult a specialist!
• Connect the plug on the LED light's cable to the counterpart on the connection cable.
• Place the connection cable so it is securely attached. For example, use cable hooks and
cable ties.
• Turn on the power supply to the LED driver (constant power supply) and check whether the
LED light is functioning properly.
If the light does not light up, then turn off the power supply for the LED driver immediately.
After this, check the connections to the light (correct polarity, red cable = plus/+, black cable
= minus/-).
In case of doubt, contact a professional (e.g. an electrician)!
Maintenance and care
• The light does not require maintenance. The built-in LED light has a long service life and
cannot be replaced.
• Prior to cleaning the light, switch the light off and disconnect the associated LED driver from
the mains voltage (switch off at the light switch). After that, allow suffi cient time for the lamp
to cool down.
• The exterior of the light should only be wiped with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Do not use aggres-
sive cleaning agents or chemical solutions that could damage the housing (discolouring) or
impair operation.
Do not press too hard on the housing, as scratches might appear.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, soft brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regu-
lations.
