Important Instructions
To ensure reliable service, your power inverter must be installed and used properly. Please read the installation and operating
instructions thoroughly prior to installation and use. Pay particular attention to the warning and caution statements in this manual.
The caution statements advise against certain conditions and practices that may result in damage to your inverter. The warning
statements identify conditions or practices that may result in personal injury.
Please read all instructions before using this power inverter!
Using the inverter inside the vehicle (for appliances or devices requiring less than 150 W)
Due to electric limitations of 12 V outlets in boats and vehicles, the EW-420USB inverter is limited to 150 W for use with a 12 V plug.
* Please note that the EW-420USB can be use with 150W to 450W rating applications when directly plugged to a 12 V battery.
1.
Attach the ring-type connector marked with red to the positive (+) DC terminal on the power inverter and attach
the ring connector marked with black to the negative (–) DC terminal.
2.
With star washer in place, tighten the nut on each DC terminal by hand until it is snug. Do not over-tighten.
3.
Insert the cigarette type plug of this cable into the 12 V outlet and switch the power inverter "ON". A green LED
indicator will light on.
IMPORTANT: When the power inverter is not in use, unplug it from the 12 V outlet to prevent slight discharge of the battery.
Using the inverter with DC cable clips directly on the battery (for appliances or devices requiring more
than 150 W)
By directly connecting the power inverter to a 12 V battery using the DC cable clips, you can operate products with power require-
ments up to 420 W continuous.
3.
Attach the negative (black) clip to the negative (–) battery terminal.
4.
Attach the positive (red) clip to the positive (+) battery terminal.
Please make sure both clips are securely connected to the battery terminals, as a loose connection will cause the
voltage to drop and may cause the cables to overheat, resulting in equipment damage or re.
5.
Switch the power inverter "ON".
IMPORTANT: When the power inverter is not in use, unplug it from the 12 V outlet to prevent slight discharge of the battery.
RISK OF DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT: OUTPUT IS NON-SINUSOIDAL
Do not insert foreign objects in the EW-420USB inverter's outlets or openings.
Never connect the inverter to power utility AC distribution wiring.
Do not use the EW-420USB inverter in temperatures over 40° C (100° F).
Do not expose the EW-420USB inverter to water, rain, snow, or spray.
Do not connect live AC power to the EW-420USB's AC outlets. The inverter will be damaged even if it is switched OFF.
Do not use the EW-420USB with high capacitive electric appliances exceeding the inverter' rated power such as air
conditioning units, refrigerators, microwave ovens, blenders, or similar.
Only USB compatible devices should be use with the USB port. Make sure the voltage of your device is compatible
with the maximum charging voltage of the inverter's USB port.
Failure to follow these instructions can damage the unit and/or damage other equipment.
CAUTION - REVERSE POLARITY DAMAGE
A reverse polarity connection (positive to negative) may damage the
power inverter. Damage caused by a reverse polarity connection is not
covered under warranty. Failure to follow these instructions can damage
the unit and/or damage other equipment.
