SAFE USE, CARE AND ASSEMBLY MANUAL

Congratulations on the purchase of a
Barbecook®.
Please read this manual before using
the barbecue!
Failure to follow all of the manufactur-
er's instructions could result in property
damage. The user is responsible for
the proper assembly, installation and
use of his barbecue.
SAFETY INFORMATION
When using an electrical appliance,
always comply with the following basic
safety instructions. Always keep your
instruction manual safe for further
consultations.
Do not submerge the device in
water or other liquids.
Do not connect the device to the
same outlet with other devices.
Connect the device to a suitable
outlet.
Check the connection cable for
damage from time to time. Never
operate the device when the cable
is damaged. If the mains connection
cable shows defects, let a qualified
electrician exchange it.
Do not move the induction hotplate
during cooking or with hot cookware
on top of it. Never move the device
by pulling on the power cable.
Never use the device when it does
not function properly, shows dam-
age or in case it was dropped.
Do not leave the device unattended
while in operation. Keep children
and other incompetent persons
away from the device: The stainless
steel surface can become hot.
Only qualified experts may perform
repair and maintenance on the de-
vice, using original replacement and
accessory parts.
Do not touch the hot surface of the
ceramic field. Note: the induction
hotplate does not heat up itself
during cooking, but the temperature
of the cookware is transfered to the
hotplate!
Do not place any (empty) metal
kitchen utensils, cookware or pan
lids, knives or other metal objects
on the hotplate. These may heat up
when the device is turned on.
Do not heat up any unopened tins
on the induction hotplate. A heated
tin could explode; therefore remove
the lid under all circumstances
beforehand.

Never handle the appliance or the
cable with wet hands
Never move the appliance by pull-
ing on the cable
Never immerse the appliance in
water or any other liquid. Do not put
the appliance in the dishwasher.
The appliance is not designed to
be connected to a timer or remote
control.
If the cooking surface is broken,
disconnect the appliance to prevent
electric shocks.
The cooking surface is made of
a temperature-resistant ceramic
material. In the event of damage,
even if the damage is slight, remove
the plug from the electric socket and
contact our customer service.
To prevent overheating, do not
place aluminium foil or metal plates
on the appliance.
Do not insert any tools into the ven-
tilation openings. WARNING! This
can result in electric shocks.
If you are using an extension lead,
it must be intended for outdoor use
and be rated at 10 A/230 V.
Use as short an extension lead as
possible. Do not connect two or
more extension leads to each other
Always check that the electrical
socket supplies the correct voltage
(230 V). The socket must also be
suitable for equipment with a power
rating of 3400 W.
This appliance meets the technical
standards and safety requirement
for electrical equipment.
INSTALLATION
This barbecue should only be used
outdoors use under dry weather
conditions. Store the electrical appli-
ance indoors when not in use.
Minimum clearance to adjacent
combustible materials : 76 cm (30")
from furthest protruding edge on
side and rear of barbecue.
The induction hotplate must be
installed according all local regula-
tions.
Always place the device on a stable
and level surface.
Never place the device on a flam-
mable surface (e. g. table cloth,
carpet, etc. ).
Always place the barbecue in a
well-ventilated area. Do not block
the ventilation slots of the device.
Keep a minimum distance of 10 cm
(5") to walls or other items.
Do not place next to devices or
objects, which react sensitively to
magnetic fields (e. g. radios, TVs,
etc. ).
Do not place next to open fires,
heaters or other sources of heat.
Make sure that the connection
cable is not damaged or squashed
beneath the device. Make sure that
the connection cable does not come
into contact with sharp edges and/or
hot surfaces.
This appliance is intended only for
use outside in dry weather. Always
store the electrical appliance in-
doors when not in use.
Connect the appliance to an
earthed socket.
Make sure that the cable is com-
pletely unrolled.
INDUCTION HOTPLATE
Model: S2-A (CE/EMC)
Temperature range: 60 – 240 °C
Power consumption: 3400 W
Power supply: 220 – 240 V ~ 50 Hz
Timer: 0 – 180 minutes
Sound level < 70 dB(A).
With induction hotplates, an electric
voltage is applied on a conductor spool
beneath the glass ceramic surface.
This creates magnetic fields, which
directly heat up the bottom of the
cookware through a physical effect.
This means saving time and energy,
because contrary to common hotplates,
the cookware is heated up, not the
heating element and the glass ceramic
surface.
GENERAL USE
Plug the power plug into a suitable
outlet.
Plug into a suitable socket.
The light on the On/Off switch will
come on. The temperature is shown
on the display. If the temperature of
the cooking surface is below 50 °C
the display shows "-L-". If the tem-
perature is above 50 °C, the display
registers "-H-". When you hear a
signal, the appliance is in standby
mode (ready for immediate use).
Place suitable cookware (steel, cast
iron or enamelled cast iron with a
flat base and a diameter of 12 to
16 cm) in the centre of the hotplate.
Press the ON/STANDBY switch
to switch the appliance on. The
LED display disappears and the
