DESCRIPTION
Thank you for purchasing Hydrofarm's Phantom CMh 315 (PHR3150) ceramic metal halide reflector.
When used with our matched Phantom CMh ballast and 315-watt ceramic metal halide lamp, this
reflector is designed to provide superior PAR light delivery with a very uniform light spread.
WARNING: FAILURE TO FOLLOW OUR GUIDELINES COULD RESULT IN ELECTRICAL SHOCK. Do
not touch, move, spray or clean your light fixture when it is plugged in. Allow it to cool down before
handling. Recommended mounting clearance for your fixture is 8"‒12" on all sides. Do not mount
directly to any surface.
HANGING THE PHR3150 REFLECTOR
1. Upon opening the box, note any dented, deformed, or damaged parts. If any part of your unit is
broken or damaged, immediately notify your retailer.
2. Remove plastic bag from reflector and inspect the reflector for any damage.
3. Locate the ceiling joist with a stud finder. If you cannot locate the joist, insert expansion anchors
into the ceiling. The anchors (and the hooks used with them) should be rated to hold at least 50
lbs each.
4. Screw an eyebolt, J-hook, or some other means of hanging the reflector securely from the ceiling
into the joist or anchor. Screw a second eyehook further down the joist or in an anchor to balance
hanging the reflector.
5. Attach a chain, rope, or other sturdy material to the eyehooks (we recommend Hydrofarm's Light
Riser, item code LULIFT).
6. Secure the chain, rope, carabiner clips, etc. to the CMh 315's integrated hangers.
7. Use the cable tie provided to secure the electrical cord to the hanging cord/chain so that the
cord's weight doesn't tilt the fixture.
8. Adjust the reflector's height to the desired distance above the plant canopy.
LAMP INSTALLATION
Wearing gloves if possible, remove your lamp from its packaging (lamp must be Philips 315W 38 mm
T12 ceramic metal halide for PGZX18 socket). Install the lamp into the socket by inserting the pins on
the lamp base into the matching shaped holes in the socket and turning the lamp a quarter turn to the
right (clockwise)(see photo below). When the lamp is properly installed, the base will stop turning and
the lamp will feel firmly seated. The lamp is operated in vertical position in this reflector.
NOTE: If air cooling of this reflector is desired, order the optional Air Cooling Kit (PHR3150CKT)
which provides two 6" flanges and a sealing lens system.
