Power Supply
Repeater
Operation
Power supply type 79-985 is designed to supply Luxstat wireless
control with 24V DC.
Repeater type 79-986 is designed for use in locations that
require an extensive wireless range or in buildings of awkward
construction or layout. 79-986 also comes with 24V DC supply.
Areas where a repeater can be installed:
- Where the range of existing EnOcean systems is insuffi cient.
- Where layout and construction are awkward.
- Multi-storey buildings.
Function
Power supply type 79-985 is a power supply device based on
24V DC / 200 mA and comes with short circuit protection.
Repeater type 79-986 provides 24V DC / 200 mA and short
circuit protection as well as a repeater function for EnOcean-
based technology. The repeater has two levels, whereby level
1 forwards all incoming EnOcean signals but not signals from
another repeater. The level 2 setting also forwards repeater
signals. The default setting is level 1.
Installation
Installation:
The Luxstat power supply / repeater is designed to be fi tted
indoors to a wall. The cover is removed by loosening the four
"locks" with a screwdriver and lifting off the cover. Fig. 2.
Connections:

Settings
Repeater level 1 or level 2:
For fi rst time operation the repeater is preset to level 1 (yellow
LED on). To switch to level 2, activate switch 2 for at least 3
seconds. The red LED will come on (yellow LED off), and the
setting is stored during power down. To return to level 1, activate
switch 1 for at least 3 seconds, and the yellow LED will come on
again. (red LED off) Fig. 3.
Test function
To run a quick function check, use an EnOcean wireless switch,
e.g. 76-925 / 926. Activate it and observe that the green LED
fl ashes when receiving/transmitting a new RF signal. Fig. 3.
Troubleshooting
Problem:
No 24 V/measured on the terminal (ø7 and ø8).
Possible cause:
1. Check 230 V AC connection to Luxstat power supply/repeater.
2. 24 V DC output is overloaded. This can happen in the event of
a short circuit or if too many sensors have been installed.
Try to disconnect the sensor and check the 24 V DC again.
Problem (Only Repeater type 79-986):
No green LED indication when activating manual wireless switch.
Possible cause:
1. The distance is too short and the repeater is overloaded
(should be greater than 1 metre).
2. If possible, try a different manual switch.
3. The reception conditions for the repeater are not optimal or
they are interfered by other frequency controlled systems, or
possibly by a PC. Move these to a suitable distance, 1 metre.
4. See also "RF wireless information".
