Upper HookS
Confirm that Upper Hooks can mount to
leading metal edge of trunk or hatch.
NEVER
attach to glass, plastic, or trim.
DO NOT
open the trunk or hatch with
a loaded carrier attached.
DO NOT
place upper straps
spoilers if they contact. Always route them
under spoiler, if possible.
Side HookS
(7016046, 7020149)
Confirm that these can mount to
side metal edge of trunk or hatch.
Hooks should be attached with
straps the shortest distance from
the rack as possible. To check, set
them and then try to slide them
along. If they go slack, tighten
them again.
trUnk tUBe SUpport arm
One of the cooler features of our racks,
this longer upper frame arm swings up to
allow a proper fit to vehicles with a trunk like
sedans, coupes, and some hatchbacks.
Avoid soft flat areas in the center of the
trunk lid – try to position the rack more
toward the rear edge of the trunk.
Lower HookS
Confirm that Lower Hooks can mount to
bottom metal edge of trunk or hatch. If this
is not possible, the hooks may be secured
to bumper structure, or tow points in the
vehicle's frame.
Straps must be far from vehicle exhaust
system and must not rub on sharp
metal edges.
