Design features
of the power tool
Operation mode regulator (see fig. 16-18)
Switching the operation modes shall be
carried out only in the off mode of the
tool's motor.
Function switches 10 and 17 are fitted
with lock button 9 that is used to fix
the function switch in a set position.
Rotate function switches 10 or 17 while
pressing button 9 in order to set a desired
operating mode.
[BH10-28 VB, BH15-32 VB]
Function switch 10 is designed for the switching the
following operation modes of the tool (see fig. 16):
Drilling (set the function switch 10 in the position indi-
cated in figure 16.1) - non-percussion drilling in wood,
synthetics, metal
Percussion drilling (set the function switch 10 in the
position indicated in figure 16.2) - percussion drilling in
masonry, concrete, natural stone
Chisel rotation (set switch 10 in the position shown on
figure 16.3) - this mode does not allow operating your
power tool, but allows setting the chisel in a comfort-
able position for chiseling works
Chiselling (set the function switch 10 in the position
indicated in figure 16.4) - chiselling ducts in masonry,
concrete, stone, removing ceramic tiles
[BH10-26 B, BH12-28 VB, BH13-32 VB, BH15-36 VB]
Function switches 17 and 18 are designed for the
switching the following operation modes of the
tool (see fig. 17):
Drilling (set the function switches 17 and 18 in the
positions indicated in figure 17.1) - non-impact drilling
in wood, synthetics, metal
Impact drilling (set the function switches 17 and 18 in
the positions indicated in figure 17.2) - impact drilling
in masonry, concrete, natural stone
Chiselling (set the function switches 17 and 18 in
the positions indicated in figure 173) - chiselling
ducts in masonry, concrete, stone, removing
ceramic tiles
[BH16-42 VB]
Impact drilling (set the function switch 10 in the
position indicated in figure 18.1) - impact drilling in
masonry, concrete, natural stone
Chiselling (set the function switch 10 in the position
indicated in figure 18.2) - chiselling ducts in masonry,
concrete, stone, removing ceramic tiles
In order to make switching between
the operation modes smoother, rotate
slightly chuck 1 (SDS PLUS) or chuck 22
(SDS MAX) by hand.
Speed selector thumbwheel
[BH10-28 VB, BH12-28 VB, BH13-32 VB, BH15-32 VB,
BH15-36 VB, BH16-42 VB]
Use speed selector thumbwheel 12 to set required
revolutions and impact frequency
The required speed is dependent on the material and
can be determined with practical trials
When operating your power tool at a low speed for a
long time, it has to be cooled down for 3 minutes To
do it, set a maximum speed and leave your power tool
to run idle
Vibration protection system
[BH10-28 VB, BH12-28 VB, BH13-32 VB, BH15-32 VB,
BH15-36 VB, BH16-42 VB, H13-05 B, H17-11 B]
The vibration protection system is design to reduce
vibration impact (during operation) on the operator
Safety clutch
[BH10-26 B, BH10-28 VB, BH12-28 VB, BH13-32 VB,
BH15-32 VB, BH15-36 VB, BH16-42 VB]
The safety clutch protects the power tool against
overload and damage in case of accessory sticking
during drilling
Power indicator
[BH16-42 VB]
Power indicator 28 is on when the power tool is
connected to the mains and is ready to be switched on
on the power tool operation
Wear thick soft gloves when working to
reduce vibration impact on your body.
