Please read the instructions for use carefully. If you have any questions, please
contact your physician or specialist shop.
Product description and performance characteristics:
Velpeau ® Abdominal Classic is a support for stabilisation of the abdominal area
Product composition:
Nylon, polyester, spandex
Intended purpose:
Support and protection of the abdominal wall following surgery in the abdominal area
Indication:
Impairment of the abdominal wall following abdominal surgery
Contraindications:
• Known allergy and/or hypersensitivity to any of the product components
Side effects:
In very rare cases, skin irritations and/or allergies may occur.
Usage information:
Fasten the main hook and loop closure (a) with medium tension. Center the two
abdominal stays (b). The removable device (c) is positioned according to the location of
the deficiency in the abdominal wall.
Warnings and precautions:
• Do not use Velpeau ® Abdominal Classic unless directed by a health care professional.
The first time patients use Velpeau ® Abdominal Classic they need to have a health care
professional show them how to put it on correctly.
• Apply Velpeau Abdominal Classic in accordance with the instructions for use and

illustrations provided. Please check the positioning of Velpeau
during use and correct as necessary.
• The health care professional will determine how long Velpeau
to be worn per day based on the indications and healing progress.
• In case of discomfort or problems consult a health care professional.
• Velpeau ® Abdominal Classic shall only be used on intact skin. Wounds have to be
covered with a suitable wound dressing before use.
• Velpeau ® Abdominal Classic is intended for use on a single patient only.
• Velpeau Abdominal Classic's durability may be compromised by certain factors,
®
e.g. objects with sharp edges or damage to the hook-and-loop fasteners. To prevent
this, the hook-and-loop fasteners should always be fastened, for example when
Velpeau ® Abdominal Classic is not being worn or when being washed.
• Velpeau ® Abdominal Classic must not be used beyond the last day of the month
indicated on the packaging (expiry date)
Care recommendations:
Machine wash at 30 °C (delicates cycle) with like colours. Do not bleach.
Allow Velpeau ® Abdominal Classic to air-dry away from heat sources; do not dry in
a dryer. Do not iron and do not dry clean, do not use fabric conditioner. Close the
hook-and-loop fasteners and if possible use a mesh laundry bag. Clean the hook-and-loop
fasteners regularly so it retains its ability to fasten tightly, and to preserve the performance
of the product.
Storage and transport conditions:
Velpeau ® Abdominal Classic must be kept away from light and moisture (preferably in the
original packaging).
Disposal
In Europe, product waste can be assigned a waste code from Chapter 18 01 and
packaging waste a waste code from Chapter 15 01 of the Directive on the European
Waste Catalogue (Waste Catalogue Ordinance – AVV). Packaging labelled as recyclable
should be taken to the applicable national recycling systems.
