displayed. At this stage, you can work on the parameters involved and, if a master keyboard
is connected to the Midi In 2 port, you can playback the effect of the change made to the
parameters in real time. Attention: the parameters must only be changed using the program
on a PC, otherwise, if you edit parameters directly on the SD4 instrument, you will have to
re-synchronise the program by pressing the "Refresh" key. Also if you select another Preset
on the SD4 instrument you will have to press the "Refresh" key to update the parameters of
the SD4Editor.
savIng modIFICatIons
Once you have completed all the modifications, you can save the Preset on SD4 following the
normal saving procedures (see the section entitled "Saving a Preset"). Alternatively, you can
save the Preset on the computer using the "Save" command in the "File" menu. In this way,
there are no longer any memory limits and you can create and save as many Presets as you
like. You can then search them quite handily using the "Open" command in the "File" menu.
FIrmware updates
Firmware updates can be downloaded from the official Ketron website (www.ketron.it). To be
able to update the firmware you must first and foremost download and install the SD4Update
software program. Having done so, you can download the file of the new SD4 firmware to be
installed. Proceed as follows to start the update procedure:
1. Switch SD4 off.
2. Switch SD4 on holding keys 1 and 3 down together at the same time.
3. The LEDs of the display start to rotate to point out that SD4 is in programming mode.
4. Connect the USB cable.
5. Open the SD4Update program.
6. Press the Open key.
7. Select the file of the firmware update.
8. Press the Program key.

10. Once updated, the program will display "Write Complete" and the LEDs of the display stop
moving.
11. If you receive error messages, do not switch SD4 off but repeat the procedure from point 8.
12. Disconnect the USB cable.
13. Start-up SD4 again.
