4. Assembling
Before assembling, carefully inspect your QuikRead 1 ml Dispenser for any
shipping damage. Check that the contents are complete (see page 2).
Any defects or shortages should be reported to the supplier.
The dispenser is designed to fi t QuikRead buffer bottles and has been preset
at the proper buffer dispensing volume of 1 ml.
1. Observe Safety Regulations (see chapter 2) and Operating Limitations
(see chapter 1).
2. Screw the dispenser onto the buffer bottle. Do not screw too hard.
3. Affi x to the dispenser a label with the name of the QuikRead assay you are going
to use. To avoid contamination use a separate dispenser for each type
of QuikRead assay.
Warning!
Avoid splashing of reagent!
4. Place a QuikRead cuvette below the discharge tube.
5. The discharge tube must point away from the user at all times.
Note!
Before using the instrument for the fi rst time, ensure it is rinsed carefully or discard
fi rst few samples dispensed.
5. Priming
The dispenser should be primed before use and after each cleaning.
1. Place a suitable vessel below the discharge tube.
Warning!
Reagent may splash!
2. Gently push down and release the plunger button several times.
3. Check that there are no air bubbles in the discharge tube.
Every QuikRead buffer bottle contains excess buffer to allow suffi cient priming.
