1. Preliminary Remark
Dear User,
With the purchase of your B+B XXL-wheelchair Econ XXL you have
received a German high quality product which sets standards through
its various adjustment features.
These operating instructions intend to help you to familiarise yourself
better with the operating and the handling of your wheelchair.
Before using your new wheelchair for the first time, please read and
follow the instructions in this manual carefully. The instruction manual
is an integral and necessary part of the wheelchair. This is why you
should keep it close by and include it when passing on the wheelchair
to someone else. For visually impaired users, this document is available
as a PDF file at our website www.bischoff-bischoff.com.
Any repairs and adjustments require special technical training and may
therefore only be carried out by authorized Bischoff & Bischoff dealers.

2. Important Safety Instructions
2.1. General Safety Instructions
• To avoid falls and dangerous situations, you should first practice
driving your new wheelchair on level, unobstructed ground. We
recommend having an assistant with you.
• Please note there is a risk of entrapment between moving parts
when adjusting, using and maintaining the wheelchair.
• The accompanying person should be physically and mentally
capable of operating a wheelchair.
• Never use the wheelchair under the influence of alcohol or other
drugs.
• Please make sure that all parts have been properly installed before
using the wheelchair.
• Never lift the wheelchair by parts that are not fixed firmly (the
armrests or legrests).
• Make sure that the screwing axle at the wheels are tightly in the
axle holder, otherwise there is risk of injuries.
• Please note that displacing the center of gravity by shifting the
body, or by adding loads may increase the risk of tipping over.
• Please have an assisting person for help when you have to get
over obstacles or steps. Use the tip assist (see overview of the
wheelchair) to tip the wheelchair appropriately.
• Steps and larger obstacles may only be crossed with the help of at
least two assisting persons. For this, use lifting points 1 and 2 (see
overview of the wheelchair). If equipment such as ramps, lifts or
step climbing aids are available, these should be used.
• When driving on an incline/slope, it is necessary to be aware that
a risk of tipping exists even at low angles, depending on the axle
position setting. Use of tip protection is recommended.
• Avoid using on uneven, loose surfaces.
• When getting into or out of the wheelchair, apply both parking
brakes.
• All road traffic regulations must be observed when driving on
public roads.
