heavy mechanical stress.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, as it could become a dan-
gerous plaything for children.

Battery/rechargeable battery instructions
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.
• Do not let batteries/rechargeable batteries lie around openly. There is a risk of batteries being
swallowed by children or pets. If they are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Acid contact due to leaking or damaged single/rechargeable batteries can burn your skin,
therefore use suitable protective gloves.
Liquids leaking from batteries/rechargeable batteries are very chemically aggressive. Objects
or surfaces coming into contact with these liquids might be considerably damaged. Thus, store
batteries/rechargeable batteries in a suitable location.
• Normal/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a fire. There
is a risk of explosion!
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries; there is a risk of explosion!
• Always use non-rechargeable or rechargeable batteries of the same type.
• Never mix normal batteries with rechargeable batteries.
• Do not mix batteries with different charges (e.g. fully charged and half-discharged non-re-
chargeable or rechargeable batteries).
• Always replace the complete set of batteries/rechargeable batteries.
• Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay at-
tention to plus/+ and minus/-).
The pool thermometer can also be operated with rechargeable batteries. Due to the
lower output voltage of rechargeable batteries (batteries = 1.5 V, rechargeable batter-
ies = 1.2 V), the operating time can be shorter.
Therefore, we recommend that you use high-quality alkaline batteries to operate the
pool thermometer in order to ensure long-lasting and reliable operation.

Inserting/replacing the batteries
Before opening the housing, e.g. to replace the batteries, carefully dry the pool ther-
mometer so that water cannot get into the inside of the housing.
• Open the housing by slightly turning the upper housing cover (1) to the left in counter-clockwise
direction.
• Pull the transparent housing with the electronic parts inside from the lower part; memorise the
orientation.
• Carefully squeeze the battery compartment so that you can loosen the clip (4). Take note of the
orientation.
• Insert two batteries of type AAA/Micro into the battery compartment (5) observing the correct
polarity.
• Re-attach the clip (4) correctly.
Before re-inserting the transparent housing and closing the pool thermometer, read the
next chapter "Getting started" for making the Bluetooth
• Then, insert the transparent housing into the lower part paying attention to the correct orienta-
tion.
A small metal weight in the shape of a semi-circle is located in the lower part and al-
lows only one orientation when inserting the transparent housing. Do not use any force
during assembly.
If the transparent housing was not inserted correctly, the housing cover cannot be
screwed on correctly and water may get in. This will destroy the pool thermometer and
void the warranty!
• Check the correct position of the gasket (3). Screw the housing cover (1) tightly onto the lower
part of the pool thermometer (turn to the right in clockwise direction).
• The batteries need to be changed if a message is indicating that the batteries are empty is
displayed in the app.
