Troubleshooting
If the device is not working properly, please check first of all whether you are able to rectify a
problem yourself. Otherwise you should contact the customer service department. Do not attempt
to repair a defective device yourself!

Possible cause/solution
• Is the mains plug correctly inserted into the socket?
• Is the plug socket defective? Try another plug socket.
• Check the fuse of your mains connection.
• Is the On/Off switch in the OFF position?
• Is the temperature controller at the MIN position?
• When the device is first used: Any coating residues that may
remain may result in a small amount of odor or smoke
development. This is normal. Allow the device to heat up for
about 15 minutes (see the "Use" chapter). During this time,
make sure the room is well ventilated, e.g. with wide-open
windows!
• The device has already been used: Is the crumb collection
tray full or are the heating elements dirty? Follow the instructions
in the "Cleaning and Storage" chapter.
