Ignition Coil - Chevrolet Performance ZZ6 EFI DELUXE Mode D'emploi

Ignition Coil:

The ZZ6 EFI engine requires the use of a 12 volt ignition coil with a primary resistance between 0.4 and 1.4 Ohms. Exceeding
this primary resistance could cause damage to the ECU. Chevrolet Performance conducted our development and durability
testing using an MSD Blaster 2 coil PN 6202.
CDI ignition:
The ZZ6 EFI engine can be used with aftermarket CDI ignitions. See the Typical CDI Wiring schematic in these instructions.
When using a CDI ignition follow the manufacturers recommendation for the ignition coil.
Fuel Requirements:
Premium unleaded fuel is required with a maximum of 10% ethanol. Leaded fuels or ethanol fuels will cause engine damage.
Fuel Pump:
The ZZ6 EFI requires the a fuel pump capable of a minimum flow of 57 GPH (215 LPH) at 58 PSI.
Fuel Pressure Regulator:
The ZZ6 EFI requires the use of a vacuum referenced fuel pressure regulator set to 58 to 60 PSI. The vacuum reference hose
must be connected to an intake manifold vacuum source. A good location can be had by installing a T in the vacuum line between
the throttle body and MAP sensor, Adjust the regulator with the vacuum reference hose disconnected from the regulator and
plugged while the engine is running. Once 58 to 60 PSI is achieved, unplug the vacuum reference hose and connect it to the
vacuum reference port on the regulator.
Fuel Lines and Filter:
Ensure all fuel lines and filters are rated for high pressure fuel injection. Fuel feed to fuel rail requires termination with a -6AN
female fitting.
Headers:
A ZZ6 EFI engine can be equipped with a header exhaust system for maximum performance in applications where a
nonproduction exhaust system is legal. For street performance and limited competition applications, the recommended header
configuration is 1 3/4" diameter primary pipes, 30 to 34 inches long, with 3.5" diameter collectors.
Accessory Drive Brackets:
Two Accessory Drive Kits are available from Chevy Performance Parts to fit the ZZ6 EFI engine. P/N 19417906 is used
for vehicles with air conditioning and P/N 19417907 is used for vehicles without air conditioning. Please see your Chevy

Spark Plugs / Spark Plug Wires:
The ZZ6 EFI engine comes with spark plugs part number 19355201 (AC # MR43LTS). High performance 8mm diameter wire
sets with the Chevy Bowtie logo and 90 degree ends can be ordered under P/N 12361051 from Chevy Performance parts.
Rocker Covers:
The ZZ6 EFI engine comes equipped with black painted aluminum die cast, center hold-down bolt rocker covers. A wide variety
of valve cover choices are available at your Chevy Performance Parts dealer or visit us on the web at
com. Pre-1987 flange mount rocker covers can be installed on the ZZ6 EFI engine since the fast burn heads are doubled drilled
for both bolt pattern valve covers.
