Features
"Master" Outlet: Allows one "Master" device to control power for up to eight
peripheral devices (model dependent). "Master" device can be any 15 watt or higher
device.
"Power Save" Outlets: In GREEN power-saving mode, these outlets have power cut
by the "Master" device when idle or turned off. These outlets are recommended for
intermittent-use devices such as monitors, printers, scanners, lamps, DVD players,
gaming consoles, amplifiers and speaker systems.
"Always On" Outlets: Provide continuous power even in GREEN power-saving mode
and are not controlled by master switches. These outlets are recommended for critical
devices such as modems, routers, external drives, cordless phones, fax machines,
DVRs (TiVo
), cable and satellite boxes.
®
User-Adjustable Wattage Control Switch: Found on the back panel of the surge
suppressor, this switch allows both higher-wattage (25W) and lower-wattage (15W)
devices to be designated as the "Master" device. PCs, laptops, Netbooks or any 15W
device can control the GREEN power-saving mode.
Auto/Manual Switch (select models): Allows the user to choose between GREEN
power-saving mode (Auto) or standard protection (Manual). All outlets are protected
from surges in accordance with the model's joule rating in either mode.
Manual Switch (select models): Allows the user to manually turn off individual
receptacles. If also equipped with a master switch, this will turn off all receptacles at
once. Master switches have no effect on receptacles labeled "Always On".
Diagnostic LEDs: "Grounded" (Red) LED assures wall outlet is grounded and
surge protection can function properly. "Protected" (Green) LED assures that surge
protection is present. If this green LED ever goes out, Tripp Lite will replace your surge
suppressor under warranty at no charge.
Status LEDs: "Master", "Power Save" and "Always On" (all Red) LEDs light when AC
power is present.
RJ11 Telephone Jack (select models): Connect phone cables from the wall jack
through the surge suppressor (RJ11 jacks) to the device to be protected.
RJ45 Network Jack (select models): Connect network cords from the wall jack
or cable/DSL modem through the surge suppressor (RJ45 jacks) to the device to be
protected.
Coaxial Jacks (select models): Connect coaxial cables from the wall jack through
the surge suppressor ("F" style coaxial jacks) to the device to be protected.
Power Cord with Right-Angle Plug: 8- or 10-foot cord length (model dependent)
with space-saving right-angle plug allows the surge suppressor to reach distant outlets
and furniture to be set flush against a wall.
Circuit Breaker: Protects equipment against dangerous system overload. If the load
on the surge suppressor exceeds 15 amps, the circuit breaker* will trip and the outlets
will stop providing AC power. If the circuit breaker trips, reduce the load and depress
the breaker to reset.
* Circuit breakers are integrated into the power switch on select models and offered as a separate feature on
other models.
