Commissioning
• Unpack the device and accessories fi rst.
• Connect the USB cable of your printer to the USB socket at the print server and switch on the printer. Once
the server is supplied with voltage, the USB LED should be permanently lit.
• Next, connect the plug-in mains adapter to the print server and plug it into a mains outlet.
• Switch on your PC and wait until the operating system has booted completely.
This PC must be connected to the router to which you need to connect the print server in the next step as
well.
• There are now two ways of integrating the device in your network. You may directly connect the server to
your router with a network cable. On the other hand, there is the option of wirelessly connecting the device
to your WLAN-router.
Both versions are explained here in sequence. Of course, the device must only be operated in one manner.

Confi guration is later nearly identical in either case.
• Proceed as follows if you want to connect the print server to your router by cable.
Version 05/13
Connect the LAN1 port of the server to a free LAN port of your router with a 1:1-connected network cable.
We recommend that you use the cable from the delivery scope.
• Proceed as follows if you want to connect the print server wirelessly via WPS.
Activate the WPS at your WLAN router fi rst. Usually, this requires keeping the WPS button pushed for
about 3 seconds fi rst. For this, observe any operating instructions of the router as well.
Once the WPS is active, keep the WPS button of the print server pushed for about 2 to 3 seconds until the
WLAN-LED starts fl ashing.
The connection is established after a certain time. The WAN-LED is lit permanently and fl ashes during
data transfer.
Software Installation
• First place the CD included in the delivery in the corresponding drive of your computer.
If installation does not start automatically, open the CD content, e.g. with Windows-Explorer, and manually
start the installation programme. At the time of creation of these instructions, the fi le "autorun.exe" in the
root directory of the CD must be started.
• Click "Setup Wizard" in the menu on the CD to install the software.
If any prompts of the Windows user account control appear now or later, confi rm with with "Yes".
• Then follow all instructions.
• The "Setup Wizard" is started automatically after completion of the installation.
If you want to restart the programme later, you may do this via the new link "PSWizard" on your desktop.
However, you need to start this with administrator rights. Therefore, click the link with the right mouse but-
ton and select "Run as administrator".
Confi guration
• Click the button "Next" on the fi rst page.
• Now the network is searched for the print server. If required, click "Refresh" to repeat the search.
If it is still not displayed, check that everything is connected correctly. Assign a fi xed IP address to the PC
if required.
Click "Next" for the next step.
• On the next page, you can choose if you want to confi gure the ELAN and LAN interfaces.
If you have already confi gured the settings, for example, or if you just do not want to perform it at this time,
leave the selection set to "No" and click "Next". The setup jumps to the item "Select a Printer".
If you want to adjust the settings, change the selection to "Yes".
No password is set in the default settings. You may leave the fi eld "Password" empty. If you have already
assigned a password, enter it in this fi eld and then click "Next".
• If you have connected the print server by WPS, you may skip the next confi guration page with the button
"Next".
Otherwise, the device can be manually connected to your WLAN router here.
Enter the name into the WLAN in fi eld "SSID" here.
Choose the encryption type on the next page and enter the password in the fi eld "Pre-shard Key".
Click "Next" to confi rm.
• You are now on the network settings page.
• Usually, it is recommended to retain the setting "Specify an IP address" and to assign a fi xed IP address in
the area of your router to the print server. You need your router's IP address for this. Proceed as follows to
determine it.
First open the Windows prompt, e.g., by opening the start menu in Windows® 7 and entering "cmd" in
the search window. After confi rming with Enter, enter the command "ipconfi g /all" (without quotes) and
push Enter again. Then scroll up with the mouse to the item "Ethernet adapter" or "Wireless LAN adapter",
depending on how your PC is connected to the network.
You can fi nd the IP address of your router there in "Default Gateway",e.g. 192.168.0.1. Enter this in the
fi eld "Gateway IP" in the "Setup Wizard".
A little above it, the "Subnet Mask" is listed, usually 255.255.255.0. Enter it in the fi eld "Mask IP Address".
Now you need to enter an IP address for the print server. We recommend selecting a slightly higher ad-
dress, e.g.192.168.0.240.
• Of course, you may switch the server to DHCP as well, so that your router can assign it an IP address. For
this, select "Obtain an IP address automatically".
The confi guration via WLAN is only possible by WPS. Perform confi guration via the LAN cable
if your WLAN-router does not support WPS. The print server can be manually logged on to the
WALN during confi guration.
If you have installed a fi rewall on your system, you need to release the programme in it. You
may see a prompt when starting the programme. In any case, choose that the fi rewall should not
block the application and that access is permitted.
The print server has the fi xed IP address 192.168.1.200 at delivery. Even if this address is not
in the range of your network, the device is usually found by the confi guration software.
Otherwise, assign a fi xed IP address, e.g., 192.168.1.50, to the PC you want to use for initial
confi guration.
If you need help for this, observe chapter 4 of the English manufacturer's instructions on the CD.
Please note:
Each block of the IP address must not exceed 254. The fi rst three blocks must be the same as
for the standard gateway.
Additionally, the address should be outside of the DHCP area of your router.
