When the range of the remote control decreases or the remote control ceases to function properly, battery
should be replaced as follows.
• Pull out the battery holder on the backside of the remote control.
• Remove the used battery and insert a new 3 V lithium CR2025 button
cell. The correct polarity is indicated on the remote control case.
• Slide the battery holder again onto the remote control.
Installation
TV sets up to a max. weight of 50 kg can be mounted on the sound system.
The weight of the TV set must be distributed over a larger area. If the TV stands only nar-
row feet that apply the weight over a very small area on the top of the sound system, this
can lead to overload and damage to the sound system housing.
When setting up the device, make sure that it has a stable base and that the set-up loca-
tion is suitably stable.
Serious injury to persons can be caused if the TV sets fall down.
Place your TV set on the sound system as shown in the image.
Audio connection
Use only suitably shielded power cables for audio connection. Use of other cables may
lead to interference.
To avoid distortion or mismatched connections, which could damage the sound system,
connect only devices with a cinch or headphone output to the LINE IN (4) connection.
The connecting cables may not be pinched or damaged by sharp edges.
Before connecting the sound system, switch off the device and all other devices which
are to be connected to the former. Proceed in the same way when changing the circuit.
• Connect the signal output of your TV set to the LINE IN (4) connection.
• If your TV set has a headphone output, you can connect it directly to the supplied cable.
• If your TV set has an RCA output, it can be connected with an appropriate adapter cable. Note the marking
for left and right channels for this connection type. In most devices, the right output is shown in red and the
left output black or white.
Other devices (e.g. mobile phones, MP3 players, etc.) with headphone or RCA auxiliary output
can be connected to the LINE IN jack (4).
The audio output may have to be activated on your TV set. In this regard, refer to the relevant
instructions.
Mains connection
The mains socket must be in close proximity to the product and also be easily accessible
after the power cord is plugged in to ensure that the sound system can be quickly and
safely disconnected from the mains supply in case of failure.
Before you plug in the mains plug, make sure first that the voltage data indicated on the
device is compatible with the mains voltage available. Do not connect the mains plug if
the data doesn't comply with the available mains voltage. The wrong supply voltage may
lead to irreparable damages to the device and involve risks for the user.
• Connect the small device connector plug of the mains cable to the mains supply (5).
• Plug the power cord into a wall outlet.
Operation
• Turn the sound system by pressing the On/ Off (1) button on the device or the remote control.
• The LED display (2) will indicate the operating condition:
red: sound system is in the standby mode
green: sound system is turned on
• Adjust the volume with the VOL +/- buttons (3) on the device or the remote control.
• Press the MUTE (7) button on the remote control to turn the sound off.
• Press the BASS button (8) on the remote control to switch the bass amplifier on or off.
If you want to operate the sound system using the remote control, please point the front of the
remote control at the IR receiver (6) on the device.
The sound system has automatic signal detection. The sound system automatically turns on
once the LINE IN jack (4) detects a signal.
If the LINE IN jack (4) no longer detects a signal, the sound system automatically switches off
after about 15 minutes.
Maintenance and cleaning
The sound system is maintenance-free.
Please use a soft, dry, clean cloth for cleaning.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions as these may damage the surface of the
housing.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable material and must not be disposed of in the household waste!
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current statutory
requirements.
Remove any inserted battery from the remote control and dispose of it separately from the
product.
b) Batteries and rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Regulation) to return used batteries and rechargeable
batteries. Do not dispose of used batteries in the household waste!
Batteries/ rechargeable batteries contain harmful materials and are labelled with the symbol
shown to indicate that disposal in the household waste is forbidden. The symbols of the critical
heavy metals are: Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead (marking can be seen on the battery/
rechargeable battery, e.g., underneath the refuse bin symbol shown on the left).
You can return your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the official collection points in
your community, in our stores, or at places where batteries or rechargeable batteries are sold!
That way you are fulfilling your statutory obligations and you are contributing to the protection of the envi-
ronment.
