6. THE RULES

6.1 The 'drop line'
1. Before the match, it must be decided between the teams where the throw
must be made from in order for a hit to be regular.
2. Usually the elbow must be behind the edge of the beer pong table when
throwing. However, this 'elbow rule' can also be waived after consultation
before the match.
6.2 The throw
1. Each team throws two balls per turn.
2. If the team consists of two players, each throws one ball, if the team
consists of one player, he or she throws both balls.
3. The ball is considered thrown as soon as it has left the player's hand.
4. If in a round both players hit the cups of the opponent during their throw,
both may throw again right away ('bring back rule') This rule is not limited
and applies until one of both team members (analogous to the one-on-one
game) does not hit a cup.
6.3 Points
Hit
1. As soon as a throw lands in the opponent's cup and hits the drink, the ball
is considered to have been pocketed.
2. If the ball circles in a cup but, contrary to expectations, bounces out of the
cup without help, this does not count as a hit!
3. If the ball bounces off a player or another object and then into the cups
during the throw, this counts as a hit.
4. If the ball goes into the cup and knocks it over, this counts as a hit.
5. If the ball obviously does not go into the cup and knocks it over anyway,
this does not count as a hit.
6. If a team scores a bounce shot, two cups must be drunk.
After the hit
7. If a cup is hit, it must be removed from the table (after the two throws).
8. If the drinks cannot be drunk immediately, it is also possible to pour them
into a cup and set them aside.
