5. Getting Started

Get the network ready
• For wireless LAN (WIFI) network connection:
• Check if WIFI LINK/ACT light of the wired/wireless access point or router is illuminated. Consult
the user guide of that for any questions.
Note: WiFi allows data transfer over short distances within 20 meters without
the need of cabling between the devices. Any walls or ceilings may reduce the
strength of the WiFi connectivity.
Therefore try to locate the DR 450 and/or the access point within the distance
mentioned above, and avoid any obstacles between two devices.
• Connect the power adaptor to the back of the DR 450 and plug it into the power socket
• When it is the fi rst time running the device, the system will ask you to set Language and
Network Confi gurations.

6. Text entry

When you add the address of an online radio station or your wirless network key, you need to enter
text. It is the same procedure to set the time, date or the alarm.
To enter upper/lower case letters, symbols, or numbers:
1. Press the up/down navigation button to select a character from the following:
A a B b...Z z $ % & # _ ^ ~
0 1...9
2. Press the right navigation button to proceed to the next. Press the enter button when done.
NOTE: When entering numbers the numeric keys on the remote control can also be used.
