1) Suitable location
Select a location for your Firepot, where it is protected from strong winds and where it can stand
on a flat surface (tree stump, stone slab or similar).
2) Setup
Firepot
Your
is delivered in transport mode (see figure 1), and must first be separated into its 4 components (mo-
dules) with a pulling and twisting motion.
You then set it up for use by securely assembling its 3 elements (see figure 2) in the correct sequence with a pushing
and twisting motion. The cooking pot is not added at this point.
3) Fuel
Prepare sufficient fuel by collecting brushwood, dried twigs and branches, fir and spruce cones, bark and other wood
and plant material. Shorten all the material so that it fits into the cylindrical firebox without protruding.
4) Firing up
Paper or dried grass mixed with dry brushwood is ideally suited for starting a fire. Hold the tinder bundle in one hand
and ignite the other end.
Once it has caught fire, simply place into the firebox.
Add some brushwood, thin twigs and branches to feed the flames. If your tinder does not light properly, the brushwood
may be too thick or moist. Repeat the process with smaller or dryer material. We recommend using commercially
available fire starters during prolonged wet weather conditions.
5) Adding the cooking pot
Place the filled cooking pot onto the waveformed edge of the fire tube, once the flames are blazing. The cooking pot
has a slight groove on its underside, into which the waveformed edge of the fire tube must engage to ensure stability.
Now turn the cooking pot, until the insulated handles are located away from the fuel opening, and cannot be damaged
by escaping flames. Once the
Avoid touching any part of the device exterior when fired up!
6) Adding fuel
The cylindrical firebox of the oven is relatively small, and fuel must therefore be added in short intervals. Fuel is added
via the semicircular firebox opening on the fire tube.
Only use wooden pieces of lengths fitting into the firebox without protruding.
