a robust way to allow the opening of the appropriate valves. We recommend the use of the
mask Sphere SP/A ASB breathing through the filter to the time necessary to the operations
required unable to connect the system to the compressed airline supply expected in
processing.

Mask components
The whole manual refers to the figures that are present at the end of the manual itself. SFERA
masks are made up by the following components (figure 1):
5.1
Faceblank
5.2
Inner mask with check valves
5.3
Patented visor
5.4
Exhalation valve
5.5
Speech module
5.6
Threaded connector with protection grid
5.7
Head harness with 5 straps
5.8
Neckstrap
5.9
In the Sfera SP/A ASB: backup filter connector.
5.10
Disassembling and reassembling tool of components (available on request).
6
Donning and tightness test
6.1
Use the adjustable buckles to loosen the harness completely (figure 2).
6.2
Loosen the two neck straps of the harness (figure 3).
6.3
Place the mask in front of the face holding it by the back of the neck harness. Place
the chin in the appropriate groove in the mask and put the harness over the head
(figure 4).
6.4
Pull the straps back in the sequence "neck", "temple" and "front". The neck and
temple straps of the harness should be pulled back preferably in pairs and using both
hands (figure 5). In the ideal position of the harness, the contour of the mask seal is
felt to exert a uniform pressure on the face.
6.5
The best way of donning the mask is to adjust the harness straps pulling them
perpendicularly to the mask itself (figure 6).
6.6
After donning the mask and before use, carry out a tightness test by closing the input
threaded connector with the palm of the hand and making sure the mask fits well
onto face (figure 7). No air must be felt passing into the mask while inhaling. This
tightness test must be carried out 2-3 times. The mask can be used only after passing
the tightness test. For the SP/A ASB version it is necessary to be sure that the cover
of the filter is correctly inserted before test the fit.
6.7
In order to doff the mask, loosen the straps in the same sequence followed in the
donning procedure (see 6.4). Push the buckles forward with your thumbs (figure 8).
Slip off the mask from the chin and then lift it from the head.

Maintenance, cleaning and disinfection
To keep SFERA masks in full working order, it is necessary that maintenance, cleaning and
disinfection procedures are periodically carried out. According to the table here below.
