Congratulations on the purchase of your new JACOB JENSEN
TimerScale.
The scale is designed in Denmark by Jacob Jensen, whose products
have gained international recognition for their original, simple
and classic design. Jacob Jensen has received about 100 prizes
from around the world and has 19 products included in The
Design Study Collection and The Design Collection of The Museum
of Modern Art in New York. For more information about the

TimerScale is a stringently designed kitchen
TM
scale with integrated timer function, which can be activated when
the scale is hanging on the wall. Wall mounting knob is included.
The functions UP, ZERO, DOWN are activated by a light touch.
Installation and replacement of batteries
The scale requires three 1.5 V AAA batteries (included - already
mounted in the battery compartment). On initial set-up, simply
remove the plastic strip in the battery compartment.
In order to ensure optimum accuracy, it is recommended to
replace the batteries if the LCD shows the battery symbol:
1. Open the battery-cover on the back of the scale and insert
the batteries, matching the poles (+/-). See page 2, fig. 2.
2. Replace the battery-cover.
3. When the batteries are discharged the display will show either
"LO" or the battery symbol.

Wall mounting

Please refer to page 2. Use the enclosed wall mounting knob with
either screw and plug, fig. 3.1A, or the self-adhesive pad, fig. 3.1B.
If you prefer to use the pad, make sure that the surface is clean
and totally degreased before mounting.
Note: Aluminium might leave marks on some painted surfaces.
The enclosed silicone pads can be used for protection.

How to use the scale function
1. Place the scale on a flat surface.
2. Press and hold ZERO for two seconds to turn on the scale.
The display shows "188888" and after a few seconds a "0" will
appear. The scale is ready for use.
3. The scale will switch off automatically after two minutes when
not in use. You may also press and hold ZERO to switch it off
manually.
Note: If the weight exceeds the capacity of 5 kg, the display shows
"EEEE".
Tare (additive weighing) function
1. Place the first item on the scale. The weight is displayed.
2. Press ZERO, the display reverts to "0".
3. Place the second item on the scale. The weight of this item is
now displayed.
4. Press ZERO again to reset and return to "0".
5. Repeat step 3 and 4 until all items have been weighed.
To switch between kg and lb
Slide the switch inside the battery compartment to the desired
unit (KG/LB). See page 2, fig. 2.
How to use the timer function
Note: The maximum count-down time is 12 hours. If the alarm
is not deactivated, the timer continues to count overtime for a
maximum of one hour.
1. Hang up the scale on the wall. See page 2, fig. 3.
Note: If the scale has been turned on before it is wall mounted,
it has to be turned off and then turned on again to activate the
timer.
2. Press and hold ZERO for two seconds to turn on the timer.
The default count-down time is one hour. Your last setting will
be saved in the memory.
3. Press UP or DOWN to increase or decrease the time setting.
To scroll quickly, hold down UP or DOWN.
4. Press ZERO to start the count-down. The count-down can be
paused and restarted by pressing ZERO again.
5. When the count-down is complete, the alarm will sound for
60 seconds and the timer starts counting up immediately.
Press ZERO to stop the alarm; the count-up will also be stopped.
6. The timer will switch off automatically after two minutes when
not in use. You may also press and hold ZERO to switch it off
manually.
Note: The time cannot be adjusted in the count-up mode.
