Installation
Prior to installing the water heater, make sure that the vehicle voltage
and the water heater voltage coincide (see ✎ A 1).
The water heater has an amperage of approx. 16 A. It is equipped with a
cigarette lighter plug which must be firmly inserted in the cigarette lighter
socket of the vehicle. The plug temperature rising considerably indicates
a poor connection.
This can cause boiling to be notably delayed. In this case we
recommend to use a separate supply cable for the connection having at
least 4 mm
and a 20 A fuse from the battery directly to the appliance
2
(see ✎ A 2). Keep the supply cable as short as possible.
For this purpose, pull out the cigarette lighter plug and connect the
individual wires to each other. No polarity has to be taken into account.
The most secure connection is achieved by soldering the wires (see
also under „Tips").
When installing the water heater holder, ensure that no hidden cables
will be damaged by drilling or screwing (see ✎ A 3).
During installation of the water heater, make sure that the airbag function
will not be impaired.
Do not fix the water heater at a height where it could be hit by the driver
or a passenger's head.
The water heater is placed centrally on the mounting lugs (see ✎ A 4.1)
and turned counter-clockwise by 90°. It must audibly engage in the
mounting (see ✎ A 4.2).
Operating instructions
Fill the water heater with water at least up to the MIN mark, do not
exceed the MAX mark (see ✎ A 5). When closing, the lid audibly
engages. To open, press the two closing buttons in the lid towards each
other (see ✎ A 7.3).
Once correctly connected and filled, press the button (see ✎ A 6.1) at
the upper handle end down. The control lamp (see ✎ A 6.2) indicates the
operation. Once the boiling temperature is reached, the unit automatically
switches off. Never use the water heater with the lid open.
The water heater cannot be switched off manually.
