General warnings
Read all the instructions and warnings carefully before using
this product. Failure to follow warnings and instructions can
result in severe injury, death, or property damage. Before
installation, check if all accessories are complete and without
damage. If not, contact customer service. Keep these
instructions in a safe place for future reference. Use this
product with its original parts only. vidaXL cannot be held
responsible in the event of damage or injury due to incorrect
use of this product. The information contained in this manual is
believed to be correct at the time of printing. However, vidaXL
reserve the right to change or modify any of the specifications
without notice or obligation to update existing units. Repairs
should only be carried out by a specialist or a professional and
experienced technician. Never attempt to repair the product
yourself.
2 Warnings and personal safety
Before using, please read the instructions carefully for your
safety. The manual contains information on safe use, assembly,
disassembly and maintenance instructions.
The inappropriate use of rubbish chutes can endanger either
the safety of the users or of third parties, as well as cause
damage to products or other objects. The rubbish chute is
made up of a modular system provided with a rubbish chute
with chains, hopper, support and accessories.
Limited responsibility: VIDAXL IS NOT responsible for any
consequences due to an inappropriate use of the product,
failure to adopt safety measures, unusual or non-compliant
uses as well as for any consequences due to any attempt to
dismantle, alter or replace the original parts with non-original
fittings. VIDAXL IS NOT responsible for any inappropriate and/or
different use of the product which is not compliant with the
nature of the product. Should the customer not comply with
the instructions, VIDAXL IS NOT responsible for the early wear
or break of the product.
2.1
Before Use
•
Please consult your local authorities if any permits are
required.
•
Please familiarise yourself with labour and safety
regulations, and follow these rules.
•
Check the integrity of components. Do not use the products
if you find any fault or missing parts.
•
Check the safety conditions of the working environment.
•
Take the necessary precautions as for the conditions of use

and all the necessary safety measures.
•
Install general or special protection systems on each floor in
order to prevent accidental falls.
•
Barricade the unloading area and do not allow access to
anybody in order to guarantee personnel safety.
•
Check the integrity of chains and safety hooks.
•
Check that the extremity of the chain is secured to the
hook.
•
Check that the hooking chains of every chute are tight and
never loose in order to guarantee the homogeneous
distribution of the weight of the chute.
•
Inform any personnel present on the worksite that the
unloading operation will begin.
•
The installation, check and maintenance of the unit must
not be carried out during unloading. We also remind you
that it is compulsory to wear gloves, helmets, safety goggles
and all proper safety and security devices.
•
Check all parts of system (painted steel frame if there are
any cracks, fractures, bends, deformations - if you notice
the above, immediately withdraw from use; hopper
elements – check elements based on the construction are
not worn, deformed, destroyed - the element should stick
good to the supporting structure; basic elements – check
chains and steel chain fastening element).
2.2
During use
•
Check that all parts are hooked, tightened and secured
throughout the whole unloading operation.
•
If the deformation of the hook exceeds 0.25% it must be
replaced immediately with a new hook supplied by your
local distributor.
•
Always check that no rubble is left on inner walls as it would
increase unit weight and could obstruct the passage of bulk
scrap and cause plugs.
•
Only the personnel holding the safety and security training
certificate on building site are allowed to perform
unloading.
•
Dismantle and replace the chutes and their parts if they are
worn as they can be a risk for the user.
We remind you that the chutes can be subject to break or
wear due to:
•
The type of waste /rubble (whether it is abrasive, sharp.
etc.)
•
Size and weight of the rubble
•
Height of the tube column
