Operation

To obtain the best possible results from your freezer, it is important that you operate it properly.
Before using, note the color coding of the various LEDs that you will see on the unit:
RED light: Compressor is operating
GREEN light: Power is on
YELLOW light: Warning of excessive temperature

Temperature Control

The temperature in the freezer is controlled by the thermostat control knob, located inside the cabinet near
the top. Turn the thermostat control knob up or down to regulate the temperature inside the freezer. The
markings on the control knob show MIN and MAX to indicate the temperature range. As you turn the knob
toward MIN, the temperature setting decreases, with MIN being the warmest. MAX represents the coldest
setting. Set the control midway between MIN and MAX for normal use.

Storing Frozen Items

When using the freezer for the first time or after defrosting, turn the temperature control to MAX for at least
two hours before introducing the items to be stored.
All previously-frozen items should be placed in the freezer as soon as possible to avoid defrosting.
Storage recommendations printed on the packaging of these items by the manufacturers should always be
followed.

Freezing Fresh Items

Ensure that your freezing operations are carried out under the most hygienic conditions since freezing
alone does not sterilize. It is advisable to freeze items separately rather than in bulk form. Never put hot or
even warm items into the freezer. Prior to storing the frozen items, pack them in plastic bags, aluminum
sheets or freezer containers, then place them in the freezer.
NOTES: Never put bottled items into the freezer.
For best performance, leave enough space in the freezer for air to circulate around the packages.

Defrosting

Unplug the appliance, open the door and remove all stored items to a cool place. Defrost using a plastic
scraper, or let the temperature rise naturally until the frost melts. Then wipe away the remaining ice and
water. Thoroughly dry the interior cabinet, then plug the freezer back into the power supply.
NOTE: To avoid damaging the freezing compartment walls, do not use any sharp objects to remove the
frost or separate frozen items.

Cleaning the Freezer

Before starting to clean your appliance, unplug it.
Use a clean sponge or soft cloth with a mild detergent in warm water. Do not use abrasive or harsh
cleaners.
Hand wash, rinse and then dry all surfaces thoroughly with a soft cloth.
Do not use cleaning waxes, concentrated detergents, bleaches or cleaners containing petroleum products
on plastics and rubber parts.
Never use paper towels, window sprays, scouring cleansers or flammable fluids on plastic parts as these
can scratch or damage material.

Prolonged Off Periods

If the freezer will not be used for a long period of time, proceed as follows:
 Disconnect the freezer by removing the plug from the wall socket.
 Clean and dry the inside as described in Cleaning the Freezer.
 Leave the door open to prevent any unpleasant odors or mold from building up while the freezer is not
in use.
