− If Buzz Trap is placed in the shadow, it uses its battery until it is exhausted.
− In the shadow, it uses the little available sunlight and completes its operation with the internal battery.
The operating time depends on the charging level of the battery and the brightness.
− The battery empties every night. For night operation, the solar panel must have received minimum 6
hours of direct sunlight.
− If there is no sun and the battery is empty, Buzz Trap stops.
Full recharge:
It is recommended that a complete recharge is made every 30 days (or when the sky is cloudy for a long time).
To do so, separate the dome from the body and expose it to direct sunlight (Figure 8). The product is thus in
position off and only accumulates the load. In this configuration the battery will be recharged completely in 16-
20h. A fully recharged battery operates the device for 10-15h.
Maintenance:
The maintenance of the grid is an essential point for the proper functioning and autonomy of the battery.
Insects must regularly be removed from the device by following these steps:
1. Open the unit: Turn the dome and separate it from the bottom tray (Figure 5 and 4). This automatically
switches the device to OFF mode.
2. With the dome installed on a flat surface, you can separate the internal module from it. To do so, hold
the top of the dome with both hands and press on the solar panel using your thumbs (Figure 6). The
internal module unclips from the dome.
3. Never pull or push the grid, this may break its frame!
4. The metal grid is now accessible and can be cleaned by using a brush or soft bristle brush. Make sure
there are no insects left.
5. Reinsert the module into the dome (Figure 7). The module must be placed with the grid flat on a table,
then position the dome and press it to clip the assembly.
6. Reassemble Buzz Trap (figures 1 to 5).
7. Maintenance should be done as often as necessary to keep the metal grid clean.
8. Beyond 15-20 insects, the grid no longer provides enough voltage and consumes the energy of the
internal battery.
9. Refill the water tank: Female mosquitoes look for stagnant water to lay eggs. They prefer rump water.
When cleaning the grid, fill up the water level. Once a week, replace 50% of the water by fresh water.
Eliminate dead insects from the water.
10. The solar panel should remain clean. Clean the impurities with a damp, soft cloth.
Rain, automatic sprinkling and water projection:
- Buzz Trap may be exposed to rain, but it will no longer work until it is completely dry and recharged. It
is therefore advisable to put it under cover for a rainy period and not to place it near an automatic
sprinkler. Avoid splashing water.
- During an exposure to the rain: The grid is constantly discharged and consumes all energy until the
battery is completely discharged.
- Drying (Figure 8): Drying in the sun allows natural drying of Buzz Trap. The grid and its transparent
support need time to dry. Depending on the duration and level of rain, water is more or less infiltrated
between the plastic parts of the grid. The drying of these elements takes a very variable time and must
be made naturally.
- Buzz Trap will be restored to the function of itself. Buzz Trap is not waterproof. The immersion will
destroy or abide its electronic card. It only resists to water projections from above (sky to the ground).
- Due to Electrolyse, some rust may appear on the grid and its plastic support. Simply brush the grid and
support with water and let it dry. Remaining minor rust may not affect the workability.
Warning and further advice:
- It must not be attempted to touch the grid when the article is in ON position, neither with the fingers nor
with any other object.
- The appliance is reserved for domestic use and the usual precautions should be taken.
- Keep out of reach of children. This device is not a toy.
- Buzz Trap is filled with water. During improper handling, there may be accidental splashes of water, like
a puddle. It must therefore be kept away from any electrical outlet or appliance (operating or not).
- Buzz Trap should not be moved when it is full of water. When moving, separate the bowl from the
dome. Assemble Buzz Trap once it has reached its final position.
- Do not use it in barns and similar premises.
- Do not use in locations where the presence of flammable vapors or explosive dust is probable.
- Works without chemicals and without consumables.
- The internal battery must be replaced and handled by a technician. Use a battery of the same
characteristics.
- Use only the type of battery indicated in the technical data.
- The battery must not be swallowed. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
- In case of contact of the skin, eyes or mucous membranes with the acid of the battery, immediately
